Of the three DBZ movies that Toonami runs over and over again (and therefore the most likely ones that anyone reading this review would know of), this one is probably in the middle.
Most DBZ fans just watch for the action, for which I can't blame them... But in this case, I can't give credit even to the action portion of the show.
Seriously, the fights in this particular DBZ movie are all one-sided or too short to be interesting at all.
And as for the main villain, the funny thing was that nobody stood a chance against him until Goku decides to try the Genki Dama/Spirit Bomb and suddenly the battle's won.
This was about as anticlimactic as you can get. In fact, about the one saving grace that keeps this movie above Dead Zone in my mind is that at least this one doesn't waste quite as much time talking and gets more of the characters involved.

Dragonball Z: The Tree of Might is not terrible, but it's pretty darn close. Stick with other movies, the TV show, the original Dragonball, and possibly even Dragonball GT. Possibly.

And, as with all my DBZ movie reviews, sorry they're not as lengthy as my reviews for other series... But like I said for the The World's Strongest review, what is DBZ other than a big fight scene?

When i saw this on toonami i really didnt care for it..
it was ok i guess but again i would rather watch somethign else.

Dragonball Z: The Tree of Might
This is, in my opinion, one of the best DBZ movies there is. And I have seen all 13 of them. I know that Taresu (his Japanese name) is not supposed to be Gokou's brother, but I have found some evidence. First, he knows who Kakarotto is. Why would he? Kakarotto was just another third-class saiya-jin. Unless . . he was Kakarotto's brother! Also, he knows the Moonlight Sphere attack, which Bardaku developed and taught only to a SELECT number of people, including the royal family and his *cough*other son*cough*. Add those to the fact that he looks like Bardaku, Raditsu, and Gokou, and, well . . . I really liked some of the drama in this movie, also. The scene where Gokou forms his first Genki Dama, and all the other Z senshi rush at Taresu, and he shrieks "Cha ma daa!!" is very nice. The Japanese voice actor, Nozawa Masako, is soo much better than his English actor, who is also the man who played Captain Ginyu in the English third season. I also liked some of the fighting between Kaioken x10 Gokou, and Taresu. "K . . Kaio . . ken . . . JU BEI DA!!!" Great animation. The story line was O.K. They didn't really tell you all the names of the characters. Though I already knew most of them, or had heard about them. I wouldn't be able to say wether it was funny, sad, depressing, or uplifting.

I'm confused... well, i don't remember but, people say that the name of that bad guy was taurus, others say turle,and last of all turlis,does anyone remember? But any way, I think over all it was an awsome movie!

This story line was great. The people of the special earth force all had to come together to defeat the enemy yet again. I loved the animation and how they showed the power of gohan after going thourgh so much. The thing that amazed me the most was the way they balaced the power of both teams understanding the fact that even though the forces of earth under went training they would still need to depend on my favorite in the end, GOKU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I THINK THE ANIMATION IN THE TREE OF MIGHT WAS AWSOME. THE STORY LINE COULD HAVE
ALOT BETTER. THE CHARACTERS WERE SO COOL I THINK WAS A GOOD IDEA FOR THEM TO MOST OF ALL THE CHARACTERS FROM DRAGONBALLZ INTO THIS MOVIE I ESPECIALY LIKE WHEN GOKU AND THE OTHERS ARE TRAINING AND OUT OF NOWHERE COMES THIS OTHER SAYJIN
NAME TURLIS WHO EXACTLY LIKE GOKU AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS GOKU BUT I FOUND IT
WAS GOKU'S EVIL TWIN. I THOUGHT IT WAS KINDA FUNNY WHEN TEIN AND YAMCHA START TO FIGHT ONE OF TURLIS'S HINCHEMEN AND TEIN DOES THAT THING WHERE HE SPLITS HIMSELF INTO THREE IMAGES OF HIM AND THAT BIG METAL ROBOT KNOCKS THE SHIT OUT OF HIM.
