Had mine since Jan '99. Very easy to use. Remote works great. Played over 50 DVDs. Starting to have problems playing the newer DVDs. Have a lot of trouble with The Matrix. It play The Iron Giant at all. Gives me a message that the DVD is not the "correct format", yet it plays in three other players I've tried it on. Don't seem to have a technical assistance path. Would gladly accept advice/help. Until these two movies, I had made the best purchase of the DVD player scene.

I got mine A110 back in February, I got it from Tri-State Video, and I was VERY pleased to say the least with all the rich features and EXCELLENT picture quality. To the post just above, NO, you didn't get the ONLY defective unit out there. Mine, after 8 months of faithful service, all of the sudden crapped out on me and started artifacting really bad, and skipping around on all of my 15 movies. So i had to send the damn thing to get it repaired. I'm still pissed and waiting on it to get back...
I'm giving it an 8, -1 for the whole experience of sending it back, and -1 for the remote (it could have been WONDERS better)
On the whole, if you have a working A110, you have a good DVD player, and i wouls still recommend Panasonic to everyone that wants a DVD player

Not as good as it gets. Picture quality is rather pretty, but sound... Upps. Awesome price in the other hand.

Despite the fact I seem to have gotten the only defective A110 out there, I still rate it a high score. My Panasonic seems to have problems playing alot of new discs (Mission Impossiable, Tenchi Muyo, Stargate), it will get to a scene (or with the tenchi Muyo, chapters 5,6 on each disc) and artifacts appear in great numbers, then the picture will freeze...And that's all she wrote. Other than that, and the really poor remote (it doesn't always work). It's a great player for the price. A definate must for those on a budget. oh mine's quite sensitive to overheating btw.

A great player. I have an A110 and two Sony players. The Panasonic image quality is sharper.

I have owned this player for about six months and have not had any problems with the playback. It would be nice if I was able to specify that the 5.1 audio was the default, but for the cost of the player, it is minor inconvenience. I truly like the very smooth video during fast forward.

Explain Rating: The most "bang" for the buck. After a six month search, I desided that a lot more money in other players bought a few items that I couldn't take advantage of anyways.

A/V: Wonderful. After watching VH1 Divas, my wife stoped draging her feet. She said "...The next best thing to being there".

Problems: Gloria Estivon (Sony) breaks up at the beginning of side two. A fix is to play backwards and then normal. This is the only problem out of approx. 25 disks played so far.

Features: I love the clearity and control in stop motion and forward-reverse.
