Subject: Shinji+Asuka=love By: Anonymous (xxx.xxx.243.212) Date: 10/22/2002 03:48:40 am PST Its not that I hate Rei, though I used too until I saw her stick up for herself in the end of eva, still everything about her feels fake and though out the entire series she was more of a background, a pretty face than a character. Although its obivious that Shinji cares for her its not in a "romantic love" way. I think he see's her as more of a mother figure then anything else, which is a helluva lot more believeable then them making passionate love on there wedding night. As for Shinji and Asuka, they truly are soul mates, shinji draws from Asukas inner strengh and shinji helps calm Asuka raging personality, but deep down they are more alike then one may think. I did not like the EoE as much as the series, it felt sort of half assed and it is my opinion that at the very end when Asuka says "how disgusting" it was because shinji was still crying rather then actually thinking Shinji is disgusting, the whole purpose of her rejecting him like that was because she wanted to know that Shinji actually loved her and was not just reaching out for somebody, anybody and because in the end he chose her that confirms that he dose love her in that "romantic-everlasting way" She said "how disgusting" because shinji no longer has a reason to cry...he has her! They will never be loney again because they have each other. And anybody remember nobady is more beautiful then our dear Dr. Ritsuko Ikagi. RITSUKO FOREVER! -Leanne of Calgary Canada.
