Audio and video Quality is very good. No problems encountered so far. Built in AC3 Decoder performs well with my ONKYO Receiver.

Excellent player, easy to use and change regions via remote control (modified unit only). Picture and sound quality is very good. Only gripe is that some user settings are not retained when region selection is changed. Requires player to be powered off between region changes to prevent problems during playback. Otherwise very good value for money.
Can't comment on internal Dolby Digital AC-3 decoder as I use my Sony TA-E9000ES to perform this function. No lip-sync problems on DD AC-3 as can be the case with some other players. Never had a problem with playback of ANY disc coded as Region 0, 1, 2 or 4.

Great picture.

I bought it because I can change zones 'out of the box', so I don't have to worry about warranty. Though most important player is turned off after changing zones.

I also needed an on-board decoder.

When testing other machines, I found that this had the best slow and fast forward and was easy to use.

Only gripe is that I can't turn player off using remote. I gather remotes from some Kenwood receivers can do this.

I have had nothing but trouble with this particular player. Region 4 discs with dual layer playback are prone to be pixalated and sound distorts. I would not recommend this model. I have had close calls in the past where the player has gone hay-wire when the volume is being increased through my Onkyo Amp, causing potential damage to the speakers.

This player has broken down on me twice. After having the player back to Kenwood the problem seems to keep occuring.
