Grave of the Fireflies
The animation is splendid as you would expect from Hayao Miyazaki. The story really touchs your emotions. It pretty sad but it make you think a lot about the war and it's attrocities. The characters are very well developped. One of the best movies ever made, animated or live!! Right up there with Schindler's List!!

Painful to watch, heartbreaking, and sad. In otherwords, it's just like reality. A movie that shows what happens to those that are outcast. A must see.

Grave of the Fireflies is the most powerful movie that I have ever seen, animated or live action (and definitely the most depressing- and I watch alot of depressing films). It captivated me. I could not help but become emotionally involved in the characters struggle to survive. The issues raised were definitely hammered home. The animation is excellent. The scene in the beginning with the spirits and the fireflies is hauntingly beautiful. I would recommend this movie to anyone willing to open up their mind and their hearts (and cry- excessively!).

It doesn't get much better than this. Great plot, captivating characters, artistic integrity, blah, blah, blah. All I can say is that it is so memorable that anytime you hear a word that sounds like "Seita" you'll have instant flashbacks and an aching heart.

I have never seen a movie that touched me as much as this one. I have been watching Anime for several yeas now and I must say that this is the finest thing that I have ever seen. I really don't know what to say except that I will never forget these two lost children. This haunting tale will forever, I think, remain in my mind and heart. This isn't the kind of thing I usually say. I am a big horror, sci-fi and fantasy fan. This film however, has been very profound to me and I think that i well never forget. As hard as it is to watch, I thank everyone should see it. -

A great movie, one of the best Anime movies that I've seen. It's one of my favorites, and I'm trying to get all my friends to see it too! Smooth animation, sad, depressing. This movie should come with a box of tissues!

A beautifully told story. One that leaves you grasping for some humanity but leaves you with little power to shake off the despair. A true revelation in the methods of extracting raw emotion. Masterful.

Very dramatic story. Very good diversion from typical American themes (Happy ever after themes...)...

Not much else to say, except that this is probably not a movie for all occasions. Bad movie to watch if your depressed, as it will only make you more depressed.
