You know, there's lots of ways to tell a story without showing tons of nudity. Freeman has good storylines but for whatever unknown purpose, pointless nudity is thrown in (well it is anime I guess). Not bad but far from the best.

Believe it or not, a group of animators have actually designed a good movie that has four GREAT sequels to back it up! Story line actually has content to it and the characters have a sense of human emotions(unlike some of the recent Japanese animation characters). It deserves a ten!

What the fuck is this piece of crap? Crap storyline, bad animation, ugly and unlikeable character that you cant give a shit about and pointless sex and nudity. This is so badly done it should be calssified as "comedy" rather than "action". Don't even rent it if you have common decency.

This appeared to have potential in the beginning, but ended up being both
corny and stupid. Love the part at the end where the woman goes into
battle wearing nothing above the waist but a backpack... NOT!

I enjoyed the first Crying Freeman a lot- but in the other four, Freeman sleeps with a new woman every time! What gives? It is entirely possible that my innocent American ethnocentric views of love and marriage can't handle Freeman as a swinger. I never read the comics though or saw the french film, after the last four videos I gave up.

I really liked Crying Freeman, it was serious, yet lots of action. I don't
don't understand why the girls had to be naked most of the time..
But all in all I think it's a great movie, and crying freeman is hot!!

I was first introduced to Crying Freeman when it first came out in Japan. I had to read it in its original form (Japanese) and from my knowledge of the actual places they went to and the culture involved; its right on the mark. Not only was the animation up to date, but it was the first animated series that looked so real it was hard to tell it apart from reality. The detail of reflections in the car windows as Koh drives the Mercedes down the freeway as well as the action of the rain droplets is superb. As with all Japanese Anime, the stories have determined endings and won't come back for sequels. Crying Freeman is no exception. The complete story line, although fantastical, is interesting and creative. There were a few characters that could have been left out; the huge woman that Koh has a personality conflict with should have never made it, but that's Japanese comic relief for you. At the time Crying Freeman came out in Japan, the only comics that were more popular were BeBop Highschool, Area 88 and What's Michael. Any coffee house you went to had it readily available for reading. Crying Freeman is truly a work of art from the Animation to the story line; it is detailed completely to the point of using subtitles of Japanese while they were speaking Chinese. I certainly have enjoyed reading it time and time again as well as watching it as an Anime.
