It does a great job at playing movies, and produces Dolby Digital very well. The only thing preventing me from giving it 10 is the fact that the Bass Management sends all info below 150hz from the centre and surround to the LFE channel...other than that.

Good when it works. Purchased 3/98, currently (7/98) I await it's return from the 2nd visit to the factory service center for drawer motor problems. Closest Samsung authorized DVD service is over 100 miles from my hometown of Pgh, PA-more than a little inconvenient when it needs service twice in the first 3 months.

Check the web for more reviews but this about says it all. It skips, freezes and locks up on multi layer discs. There is no firmware upgrade for the chip so the unit is dead in the water.
