Wings of Honneamise
I do not find this too slow, I personally think that it is the relatively slow flowing of the story that created the atmosphere. Also shut up about the character design, it is actually above average, unless you compare it with some eye candies, e.g. Clamp. It has some of the best machinery designs as well, or you guys are simply too busy critising the character design and missed the planes and other machineries!

To come right down to it, I think this film lacks revalation. In the end, Shiros' mind has definatley been changed, but what good did it do him? All he decided was
that EVERYTHINGSUCKS! He dosn't do anything but give a rediculous silliloquy of the evil of beingkind(since these arn't men you can't say mankind). He never
did anything for anybody but get shot into space while the whole world around him is crubling. My other problem with this movie is most of the time you can't tell if
it is about Shiro, or the world he lives in. Well Shiro is unlikable, and the world he lives in is ike something off a Metallica album(Probably "...and justice for all ")
Meanwhile people try to kill him for god knows why, his "girl " is a depressive bumpkin, who wouldn't know determination or self improvement if it bit her in the
ass. So the ultamate theme of the film is EVERYTHINGSUCKS, yet the final sequence is a montage of images of human achivement...So what I'm left with is
Sure EVERYTHINGSUCKS, but it always has, and look at all the cool stuff we made depite it all. THE MOVE TRIES A TOTAL 180 in the last FIVE
MINUTES. I'm sorry, but what I was left with was a story I did not like, that got to the end and said "nevermind "

I felt I owed you a little more intellectual cause to dislike this movie
have a popcicle!

OK, MENSA BOY, I just gave a perfectly logical, and fully sustained list of reasons to not like this move, and their is no use just hacking me with SHUT UP!(repeat). What has been said has been said, their is no use in crying over melted popcicles. I'll let this taunting fit slide, but please don't just tell me to shut up. Rebut my statements, I emplore you. Ive never seen all the way threw this one and I dont really want to see the rest.The storyline is boreing and its about planes, but some of the scenes were quite humourous.

Primero que todo pienso que esta pelicula es
una obra maestra de Gainax, que solo puede ser
disfrutada por personas con con capacidades
neuronales superiores a las de sus mascotas!
Segundo pienso que los guevones del cuentico del
"POPSICLE" son unos hijos de puta sin oficio.
Por ultimo, espero que el pendejo que escribio
arriba en español reciba pronto su transplante
de cerebro porque le esta haciendo falta!

This is one hell of a long and very dramatic show.
About this one fat so guy and this a lonesome girl that have
no interest in men!

It can be quite boring especially when you already
have ya history lesson.
We all know about first man to be on the moon.

This is a remake of it!
Oh really intriqueing?

Make me wonder why the Japanese have no ideas of their own
Please stop borrowing from us!

You no originality.

I like to know more about Japanese but all I'm getting is recyled
junk that came directly from us!

The first anime project from the upstart company called Gainax, this film was a thing to rave about 1987. About a decade later, it is still refreshing and intricate. This film is very surreal, yet realistic, reflecting imperfect traits of the characters that combine to resolve any conflict in their way. Looks at intricate details that create another completely unique world far, far away. This film also portrays a parallel that bind it with our world; our usual neglect of the deity, our tendency to arouse conspiracy and cumbersome class system...It's all there in satirical form. All the humor is preserved, and the amibition of humankind is to be repeated again. This is a classic testament of all animes that it could be as aspired and as exciting. Animation is superb in its age, and soundtrack of equal importance and value add more to this entirely fulfilling experience...

This is the movie one should never watch but should most certainly
see. Yup, Yup that's what i said. I have strange feelings about this
one. But one thing i do know for sure- it is a true masterpiece.

The 5 is for the animation, which is extrordinary. Otherwise this movie
is full of tiresome, adolescent philosophical posturing, and a distinct
lack of rounded characters. Everyone serves as a mouthpiece, nobody has
any individuality, except for that religious girl, and she was about the
best arguement I've ever seen for skipping religion -- I mean, if it
makes you THAT depressed...

Yet another example of brilliant animation. Not your typical "Kill everything in sight"-style anime, which probably has something to do with why it wasn't very popular. If it didn't have a long and bizarre ending sequence and one spot where the main character does something odd this anime would probably be the best animated movie of all time.
