I purchased this projector about a year ago the picture quality is truly wonderful however since it is a crt it is not vey bright 700 lumens it you can control all light sources this is a good choice for home theators if you can't you will probably have to go with a lcd, or dlp and have to look at pixels. This projector also seems to need to have the grid adjusted about once every month so this would probably not be a good fit for someone who does not like to tinker around with such things. The scan frequencies have enough range to be able to play all current and proposed hd signals to. The Zenth service department has only a long distance number for customer service and they are not very helpful this along with the lack of brightness id the reason for an 8 rating
