yes it does, kinda scary giggle.

I did pretty good and so far I'm not doing to badly, maybe not top of the class but not the bottom either.

We just got done watching rokeback Mountain. We wanted to see it since so many had so many different views on it and wether they liked it or hated it.
We liked it, it was pretty good and I didn't find the sexual part as shoking and over done as one person told me it was. I thought it was rather tame myself.

I am writing this here now, because I am afraid that by tomorrow it may make sense to me. I am not making any of this up.

Today I was assigned to do transfers to one of our other stores. Among the first two transfers on the list were two books. The books, which the person previously assigned to find transfers could not find, were rather distinct titles, that I could remember last seeing them. When I found the books however, the product numbers we had for them on their price tags, did not match the ones in the transfer list.

I was about to put them back, when I noticed that they both had two UPC codes; one for the United States, and the other for Europe I guess. On both books, one of the UPC codes was crossed out with a marker, a different codes crossed out on each one, but one crossed out on each none the less.

Now, suspecting that the books had been possibly mislabeled, I went over to one of our terminals, and entered in the UPC code for a book, but on accident I had entered in the code that had been crossed out on one of the books. Much to my surprise, I ended up with the product number I was looking for! On a whim, I entered in the not-crossed-out UPC, and ended up with the number that was already on the price tag of the book!

We had TWO different product numbers for the exact same book, based on the two different UPC codes.

I tried it with the other book, just in case, and ended up with THE EXACT SAME RESULTS! Two different product numbers, for the exact same book, based off of the two UPC codes on the back! And one of these, was the number for the book that needed transferring!

So, I had found the books I had been looking for, which had NOT been mislabeled, but instead labeled with a tag based off of the other UPC number on the book. But my story does not end here.

I immediately brought this to the attention of my department manager. When I did, she asked me to check the inventory amounts listed for each product number, for the books. Now I did not want to do this for the simple fact that due to our buggy computer inventory system, it took having to go through fifteen minutes of beeping error messages, just to check the inventory amount on one item.

Still, I had no choice, so after getting myself a video game strategy guide to read, I spent about an hour finding out the inventory amounts listed for both books, on both sets of product numbers.

And here are the results…

The first book had NONE listed for EITHER product number. It was not in our system at all.

The second book had an accurate total, but for the product number that was NOT the one asked for in the transfer.

Keep in mind that the store that ASKS US to transfer something to them has to check OUR inventory first, to make sure we have something in stock to transfer before sending us a list.

So in the end this means that the other store asked us to transfer two books that we list having NONE of in stock, but that we actually DO have in stock, but under completely different product numbers, due to us making a different product number for each UPC code on the book.

I was lucky my department manager had gone to lunch by the time I came to this conclusion, because hearing myself explain this made me doubt my OWN sanity at this point.

Well, tomorrow is another day…

It made my head dizzy too, that is just so messed up. I now know that when I go there they could have a product in stock but totally mislabled.

A minister decided that a visual
demonstration would add emphasis to his Sunday sermon.
Four worms were placed into four separate jars.

The first worm was put into a container of alcohol.
The second worm was put into a container of cigarette smoke.
The third worm was put into a container of chocolate syrup.
The fourth worm was put into a container of good clean soil.

At the conclusion of the sermon, the Minister reported the following
results:

The first worm in alcohol - Dead.
The second worm in cigarette smoke - Dead.
Third worm in chocolate syrup - Dead.
Fourth worm in good clean soil - Alive.

So the Minister asked the congregation - What can you learn from this
demonstration?

Maxine was setting in the back, quickly raised her hand and said,
"As long as you drink, smoke and eat chocolate, you won't have worms!"
