i havent seen it yet, but saw the motion picture movie, and...it kinda sucks
but peepz said the serise is funnier and better, should I buy it or not?....hmmmm

Te crees que por que has visto alita, ninja scroll (no "ninja scrolls") y ghost in the shell has visto mucho anime? y como puedes decir que dragonball es mas divertido que slayers? Que particular sentido del humor que tienes. En mi opinion, slayers le pega mil patadas a esa basura de dragonball. Te recomiendo ke veas mas anime antes de criticar.

This was a VERY big hit with my friends and myself because We're into AD&D , World of Darkness,and the like.Also,it's funny as hell,and includes some good old-fasioned ass-kicking with swords and spells,which has gotten us into anime in the first place.

First to Danielle, yes the series is better than the movie because the movie has no cool characters, such as Amelia and Zelgadis, anyway as for the series, I love the plot twists you never know what's going to happen next and I love the music, that's the best part. But my main problem is it doesn't seem to know when to be serious and when to be funny, I mean geez in the last episode where they're fighting Rezo I really don't think there was any need for humor. Actually this series really isn't that funny, I mean compared to many other animes I've seen anyway, like A-Ko. I think the series should try to concentrate on it's serious side a little more. This series has a lot of potential though.

Blah! D&D was more fun to play then this.
Lina is childlish, she is uncute, unfeminine,
and very unattractive.
She is too boylike and such and very silly at time.

ONLY caring about herself more then anything else

See how she eat just grab all and left nothing for anyone else.
I've beaten the crap out of her and teach her some respect and
some manner how a girl should act and eat properly.
Just grab all and shove it all into her mouth.
She some kind of demon alright.

I really liked the slayers storyline, it has interesting characters, good humor and a bit of dramatics thrown in. It may not have the best animation or the highest budget, but entertainment value is where it counts!

Very, VERY funny... and i dont know what all the bitchin on animation quality is about - i liked it just fine (maybe its b/c im used to fansubs?)

i Still like Records of Lodoss wars better... but this is a completely different genre, so any comparison between the two is not really possible.

Am i the only one who thinks that the main heroes are just a bit TOO powerful? after all for every bad guy Lina has a solution... wtf? Look at Bakaretsu Hunters for example, they way they go around defeating Zahatorte (well dot DEFEATING really) is SO much more inventive... Here in slayers they just overpower everyone... NOT original! which is why i gave it only a 9...

I just don't like this series as much as some others, because some of the jokes are just dumb. I just watched vol. 5, though, and I thought it was hilarious...but it didn't make up for the lameness of most of the rest of the volumes.

This anime is just plain goofy...in a bad sense. The first episode severely failed in capturing my interest and I spent the entire duration of the episode wondering when a spark of interest would erupt. I had heard many good things about the series, but i have to say that not even my lowest expectations could be met. Slayers is the embodiment of boredom.

Now this is bad stuff. If it weren't for the trademark anime style of big eyes, I would have thought that this was just another moronic american cartoon. It's got idiotic humor worthy of a loony tunes rip-off, and the characters are infinitely annoying and lame to boot. This cartoon is worthy of being called crap in my opinion, and although i have heard high praise for its supposedly hilarious nature, I myself found it ultimately immature and dazzlingly stupid in nature. I would definitely NOT give this anime another chance. Just plain bad.
