Video quality is excellent. Progressive scan provides film-like quality image from high quality source material such as anamorphic DVD.

This set is top notch. The video quality is fantastic, it features a 3D Y/C comb filter. It features two Toshiba Colorstream HD Component video inputs, an internal line doubler, as well as high putput 7 inch CRT's. Once I calibrated the set using the Avia Guide to Home Theater DVD, the picture quality stepped up quite a bit. With widescreen DVD's the picture is even better, and with the set's multiple widescreen modes there's plenty of flexibility. The only drawbacks to mention are that the stand which is in every picture located on Toshiba's website, and everywhere else, does NOT come with the set. The stand item number is ST4016 direct from Toshiba. The other drawback is that the instruction manual is very basic in it's decscriptions, and depth, but it will get you on your way. This is a great Rear Projection TV!

Great picture if you are using a DVD or HDTV. Cable signal sucks, only a few channels come close to a good rating. As for the DVD, 4DTV and HDTV the picture is great. So if you have a Sat/DVD or HDTV go for it. Can't beat the price and it has a lot of extras.

Better Picture than any Samsung, RCA, Zenith, Sony, Mitsubishi, and Hitachi.

The Toshiba TW40X81 Is The BEST. Even people from Sony and Mitsubishi had

admited to me, under the table of course.

Not sure how to start, I had the set for about two weeks before it headed to the shop for repairs. Over two weeks later I got it back. Not really sure if the set is working 100%. I have called the repair shop and they are sending someone out. The picture using cable really sucks, using 4DTV the picture is much better. Using a DVD the picture is great. I think that once the bug are fix it will be a great TV.

Excellent Picture! The buitl in line doubler works great. when paired up with the Toshiba SD-5109 Progressive DVD Player the picture is Outstanding... Best bang for the buck!!

not very happy, cable picture totally sucks on it,im getting direct tv so hopefully that helps. and dvds seem to trail a bit, i already exchanged 1 tv, but the one i have now still isnt the picture quality i would expect for 2500 big ones. if any one has any advice or pointers for me id really appreciate it. mbened6917@aol.com
