Hmm...I wonder if Meimi has a typical
'magical animal' to go along with her
powers? (like Sailor Moon's Luna...). She
might not given that she is a 'Lady Thief'
type of magical girl (like St. Tail or Kaitou
Jeanne...). They don't have magic pets
(though St. Tail does have a hedgehog :)

Hard to say. St. Tail never seemed so much a Magic Girl as an example of "the Cute Robin Hood" genre since she seemed skill-based. (Another series called "Jing, King of the Bandits" comes to mind here as does "Recca"). I also remember one by the same guy who did "Video Girl Ai" of that genre that was closer to the Magic Girl Motif since it did have transformations, funky powers and the cure animal. I suppose there could be some overlap but I'd say you would still need the Dark Icky, But Not As Powerful, Menace(tm) for her to go against before you could really call the Cute Robin Hood a Magical Girl.
