Was there today to put a deposit on a Bose AM-15 and a JVC 501. Got a great price on the Speakers and a good one on the DVD Player.Dealt with Both Carlos and Mike. Found them to be pleasant and professional. I look forward to dealing
with them on Friday when I go there to pick it up.

Would give 9.5 but can't. That's as high as I'll ever go, never given a 10 before for anything

Fast service, package damaged (half of the top open)but I blame UPS for that. I got a Kenwood DEM-999D from them for $140 ($150 shipped) - it came brand new and in fine shape. I only knocked them down from a "10" to an "8" because the price was a little high. I'd like them better if they offered on-line ordering as well, but I'm still very pleased with my purchase...

I've had the pleasure of dealing with Carlos a couple of times this last week. I've been there so much lately most of the guys know me by name. (Their all really nice people from who I think is the owner to the cashier I give my hard-earned money to.) I had a problem with a defective product and they changed it no questions asked and then once I got it working I didn't like it. Called him, he said bring it back and we'll pick something to make you happy. Can't really ask for more then that.

Carlos is putting me in a really tough position. I know I posted earlier that I never gave a ten. But if he keeps this up I'll have no choice. 9.8

Once again I have purchased for Uncle's Stereo dealing with Jimmy and Carlos. Regardless of what others may have posted about the store, I have not had any problems of any kind dealing with Jimmy or Carlos. I have completed my HT System tonight (just purchased the Klipsch Rear Speakers) and I will start building my mom's HT System. I am very impressed with Jimmy as he has always had the best and lowest price compared to J&R, the Wiz, etc.

Last month I bought a Denon 5700 from Jimmy Falcon at Uncle Stereo. It came to me 1 week after I ordered it. When I opened it up, I noticed it was dented on the right side. I also noticed the batteries were already in the remote and the manual had some blemishes on it. Hmmm. Looks like I bought a used or grey market product. They claimed that all of the products they sell are brand new.
I called my credit card company to force Uncles to credit my account and pay all shipping expenses. The situation was resolved, but I will never deal with them again. For now on, I buy at authorized dealers. The money saved at these types of places is not worth it in the long run. I give a rating of 2 only because I got my money back. Watch out for these guys !!!

I ordered some equipment from these guys a few months ago. They assured me it would ship out the next day. I waited 1 week. Nothing. I called back Uncles and reached a guy named Jimmy. He apologized and said it would ship out tomorrow.
I called 3 days later, nothing shipped. This time I spoke with a guy named Andy or Andrew. He told me the Receiver was backordered for at least a month. They apparantly had no problem charging my credit card immediately but not telling the truth about the status of my order.
Andy suggested that I go with another brand. No I said. I had my heart set on getting the Yamaha RXV 995. I managed to get my credit card company to step in to resolve this problem and have since than bought my Receiver from my local retail store. It was not worth the hassle to save $100 mail order to put up with this again. This store sucks and it seems they stroke you to get your business. I will not be dealing with them again !!!

Have dealt with Carlos and Jimmy a number of times. They have both come through big time. They have helped me get passed what hasn't been a totally pleasant experience. (Putting together my first and very modest home theater.) Some bad product choices on my part and a defective unit. (By no fault of theirs or mine for that matter.) And they have done everything possible to make me happy. (And that is probably the only reason why I haven't just given up.) I just hope that they don't start considering me the customer from hell. And tell me that they don't want to sell to me anymore. Because based on their customer support (if nothing else) I have no other choice but to continue to do business with them for a long time to come.

I know that in earlier postings I said I would never give a ten. But the guys have given me no other choice.

These guys are swindlers. Don't deal with them. They make promises on prices and products that they can't keep.
I called a few manufacturers of audio hardware to ask them if Uncle Stereo is a reliable source to buy their product from. I was answered by B&K "You can buy our product from just about anyone other than Uncle Stereo" If you buy from them, your warranty will be voided as they deal with B-goods and grey market products.

I know there are a lot of suspicious reviews about Uncle's Stereo on this site. But I decided to take a chance and call Uncle's, and I am really glad I did. I spoke with Jimmy, who quoted me the best price I have found on a Denon AVR2700 receiver.--I saved 300 dollars over retail and 100 dollars over most other internet retailers. I ordered it Monday morning, and it was at my door on Wednesday afternoon, double boxed and everything. Now that's fast! My experience with Uncle's was a pleasant one, and I would gladly do business with them again.

My experience with them was terrible. After talking to the guy for a while, I found out that he didn't know a single thing about the product he tried to sell. The only thing he knew was the price. Well, this store seems to me that a matter of who you are talking to. You might get a good experience, however, in my case I didn't.

Want to do more business? Then get rid of Carlos. He can only continue to hurt your business. How do I know? Well, when I call and ask for Mike or Jimmy, both of whom I've bought from in the past, he says, "I'm Andy." or, This is Mike." when I know their voices. What a jerk!

Service was excellent. When I called, I told them what I was looking for and they asked what the best price I had found was and they beat it by $75. I ordered a Reciever and CD Player, both were shipped to my house within a week. Next time I need to order something I will choose Uncle's Stereo again!!

I bought a Yamaha Dspa1 and whole klipsch speakers,
and sony dvd player. Very happy with service and accuracy.
I dealt with Jimmy who is very good and has a knowledge.
The reason 8 , Dspa1 doesn't have a manufacturers warranty.
Will buy more and more.

I ordered a Denon 5700 reciever from Uncle Stereo this past May. The first time I called, I recieved a quote for $2000. I called back the next day and recieved a quote for $2200. I noticed that another person said that they also recieved higher quote the second time they called, so I'm not sure what that's all about. I paid the $2200 since it still seemed to be a good price. Got the reciever within two weeks as promised. Unit was double boxed and has worked flawlessly.

I may have some warranty problems since they are not authorized, but I've found that japanese electronics rarely break. Remember that the next time some kid at Circuit City tries to sell you a service contract. It's estimated that there's a 1000% total profit from electronic service contract sales.

Make sure you know what your looking for in brand AND model before calling. If you're not sure on the model features of an item you'll wish you had. I got a great price on a specific home video amp, but was not happy with the VHS they talked me into. Delivery was fast.

I ordered a Denon AVR 3300 receiver from Uncle Stereo ($799.00 + $25.00 shipping)and they told me that I had to place my order in right away because they were going fast. A week later I called to check the status and found out that they were on back order and would not be receiving the 3300s for another 2-3 weeks. I understand that this occassionally happens with hot products. But the thing that pissed me off was that they charged my credit card the first day and made no effort to tell me that my order would be delayed. Needless to say I cancelled my order with Uncles and ordered from Audio Excellence for the same price.

Ordering from Uncles was not a particularly pleasant experience either. When I had questions about the 3300 verus the 2800, I felt as though he didn't have time for my questions. His tone was a bit condecending. The one good thing I can say about the gentleman at Uncles is that he knew his stuff and he gave me good advice. But that credit card bit is a little shady if you ask me. So far my experience with Audio Excellence has been very good. Much more personable and customer service oriented.

I have purchased a few items from Uncles over the last 2 years, mainly Bell'oggetti products: like the SP-200 speaker stands and the AVS-656 NOVA ZETA A/V rack. The first purchase, (over the phone) purchasing the A/V rack, the salesman was a little too aggressive to win any personality points, but NOTHING compared to a few other guys advertising in the same magazines. After several polite conversations with this salesman (Doc) since the initial purchase, I've gotten to where I prefer dealing with him. All products that I have gotten from them have been great, and they have very competitive prices.
