All my items where double boxed. Each item was un-open and nothing was missing. I did have a CD player go bad (no fault of Uncle's) after 45 days. No problem getting warranty work done on the CD player. The only reason I didn't give them a 10 was because they never sent me a invoice by mail (you will need an invoice or you will never be able to get warranty work done)...I'm just glad I asked them to fax me a invoice when I placed the order, it may be kind of hard to get an invoice later (like when you need to get some work done).

I would buy from them again (I would also ask them to fax the invoice again). My sales person was Mark Herman.

I recently ordered from Uncle's and would reccomend them to anyone. They had a very good price on a Sony STR-De925 reciever that was on backorder pretty much everywhere else I looked. I got the reciever in two days, it was doubled boxed, and the Sony box was factory sealed. The reciever works perfect and I have had no problems. Their sales staff was very polite on the phone, although I did know exactly what I wanted so they didn't have to answer any questions. the only reason this isn't a ten is because I didn't have a chance to use tech support at all yet. I am building a solid system and in a couple weeks when I purchase speakers I'll call Uncle's first. If they have a good price on what I want they aren't definitely my first choice. Very good experience!

If there is a less than 10 rating from anyone, it will be followed immediately by 2-3 reviews with rating #10 in next couple of days. I think everyone should be very suspicious of these guys (I think WEB Master is correctly identified the bogus ones). I don't know how good or bad this company is but they ARE trying to manipulate this site.

I recently ordered a Pioneer DV-414 DVD player and a Sony 50ES receiver. At the time I placed the order I was told they were in stock. I called a week later when I hadn't received anything and was told there was a mixup - I received the DVD player the next day and was told the receiver would ship by the end of the week. The next week came and still no receiver. I called back again and was told it wasn't shipped yet, at which time I cancelled the order. Bottom line - they will say anything to get your business. I wouldn't trust all of these 10s.

Sent an e-mail asking their price for Sony STR-DA50ES and what their warranty was since I was concerned about purchasing from gray market. Received a prompt respose to the e-mail with the price but nothing on the warranty. Called in to get the information and was told that they handle all warranty work and didn't really seem interested in answering any questions. Also was told receiver was out of stock and it'd be four weeks. Took a pass, just didn't feel comfortable talking to these folks.

I previously entered a vote of 1 on 2/25. I must say that when I ordered an item that they really had in stock it arrived within 3 days, double boxed at a fantastic price. If they would have told me that the previous order was backordered I would have to give them a much higher rating. Honesty is important, but so is a great price. :-)

I had many good experiences with this company. I purchased about $4000 in home theater equipment from them in the past 6 months. All of the staff I dealt with have been pleasantly good with the exception of one person named A*ndy K*nt.
Add an n and e to each respected star. This guy was pure slime. He is a cross between a used car salesman and Amway telemarketing scammer. He has less moral than Clinton.
He smells worse than New Jersey.
He is uglier than Yoko Owno.
Avoid him like you would avoid sitting on a dirty toilet seat.

No complaints here. Sales personnel were personable and shipping timeframe was as advertised. I purchased a Denon AVR-2700 for $549 + shipping and it was delivered in 5 working days which was a day earlier than stated.

Too early for rating. I just ordered a Denon 5700 receiver. A very difficult item to locate (at the right price-$1999). Was told it will be here in two weeks (3/18) Asked to be notified when it shiped so I can ensure that someone is here to receive it. Told to call back next tuesday. Jimmy was very efficient and courteous. I'll keep you all informed!!

They shipped me a factory sealed Yamaha DSP-A1 carefully double
packed in 5 working days for $1996.

Jimmy, the owner was very pleasant over the phone and I would
highly recommend his excellent service and great deals.

I was hesitant to mail order high end equipment, but did so after researching on this site and others. My experiance with Uncle Stereo was positive. I dealt with Jimmy, who is evidently one of the owners, who was knowledgable and courteous. I ordered a Yamaha 2095 ($1250), a Panasonic A110 ($299), PSB Stratus Bronze main speakers and a PSB Stratus center channel speaker. Jimmy also threw in the DVD cable and speaker cable at no cost. All equipment came in orginal cartons, double boxed with plenty of packing. All arrived in perfect condition. Jimmy said all items were in stock, but the speakers arrived about one week after other merchandise...apparantly they were not in stock as indicated. Over all, I am very pleased with the service and pricing I received at Uncle Stereo. I have no hesitation about ordering additional equipment from them, which I indent to do as soon as finances allow.

I ordered a Pioneer Elite dvd player (DV-05) on a great price $729.00 + shipping and receive in 4 days double boxed and with 3 years warranty. Bottom line:

Having been more than satisfied with their great prices and service on high end equipment (which I have purchased), Uncle's also serves the major appliance needs of its customers. Last summer, I purchased a 12,000 BTU air conditioner for about $150 less than anywhere else I queried. I have been very satisfied with three major purchases and will certainly purchase another air conditioner this summer. Keep up the good work guys, especially Jimmy, Mark, and Mike. Thank you ever so much!!

After doing quite a bit of on-line and in-store research, I decided
to call Uncle's Stereo. I did this on 3/15/99 and spoke to Jimmy.
With my budget, I ordered a Denon AV2700 at a great price of $499.
I called wanting to order Energy Take5's, but Jimmy convinced me to
go with the Klipsch Quintet system. He also suggested that I go
with the 12" Klipsch subwoofer rather than the 8" s/w. on 3/16 my
credit card was billed and it was shipped that day, arriving the
following Tuesday. Jimmy called on Monday, left a message to call,a
and I called him on Tuesday to learn that the 12" s/w was not in
stock. He said he would upgrage me to a 15" s/w for an extra $50.
I decided to go with a 10" s/w, and he knocked $100 off, promptly
crediting my credit card. He said that if I am not satisfied with
any of the equipment, send it back for a refund. I also ordered
a Pioneer DVD-414. Total for the Denon, Klispch Quintets + 10" s/w
and the Pioneer, shipped to L.A., was $1512. Only reason for not
giving a 10 was that the sub was not in stock when I ordered it,
althought to be fair to Jimmy, he did call me before I received the
order, so he was trying to make things right--he explained that it
was his mistake in thinking the 12" was in stock, when it was not.

Call Uncles! However only deal with Jimmy. The rest are idiots. I bought the Sherwood Newcastle R945Mk II for $899 after quoting that price from Smiles in NY. At first i was going to mail order it and gave them my credit card. However the next day I decided not to wait and came in and picked it up. When I got my credit card bill they had charged me twice. I called them up and they credited my card right away. Only deal with Jimmy, he is honest and will work out a deal with you.

I purchased a Yamaha DSP-A1 and Marantz Rc2000MkII from Jimmy at
Uncle's Stereo. Jimmy was helpful, provided a UPS tracking number
and the amplifier et al arrived as indicated double boxed and in
perfect condition. I saved about $1000 on the price of the amp
by purchasing at Uncle's. Then ONLY downside to this is that the
warranty is covered by Uncle's and not Yamaha. If you know what
you want, this is a good mail order company from which to purchase.

Called to get a quote for Denon AVR2700. Got Carlos. Being warned to avoid this nimrod from other internet postings, I asked to speak to Jimmy the owner. Carlos says okay, puts me on hold and then comes back on the phone claiming to be Jimmy. He then proceeds to quote me a price of $529.When I mentioned that other people got quote for $499, he claims that the price he quoted included shipping and handling. This Carlos character just leaves a bad taste in your mouth, trying so hard to be slick.

Found out that Denon AVR-2700 was discontinued. Called Jimmy directly. Told him I called before. Asked if Denon AVR-2700 dropped in price since it was being discontinued. He tells me to call back in 5 minutes, he has to talk to his distributor. When I call, he tells me that his distributor did not have anymore Denon AVR-2700 is stock. He then pushes Denon 3200, which is also discontinued, for $599 which other people got quote for $549. Different prices for different people, I guess.

When I showed no interest in 3200 but wanted to find out more about 2700 i.e. when does he expect more shipment, he rudely hurries me off the phone as if he has better things to do. Well, so much for Uncle's great customer service. I have a nagging suspicion that Jimmy just did not want to sell Denon AVR-2700 at lower price than $499, which is a great price that I was more than willing to pay for. All he had to say was he couldn't go lower than $499. Oh, well.

I was looking forward to doing business with these people because it is hard to find honest, decent mail order with great prices but I guess they aren't it. I am putting together a new home theater so I needed a receiver, a DVD player and a TV. I was hoping that I could get all the items from one source but I guess I got to keep looking.
