This movie was extremly funny and had a wonderful storyline. It had cool characters and great animation. Why? Because japanese people made it!

This is probably the worst Ranma release in comparison to the much more entertaining OAVs and the second movie: Nihao my Concubine. At first, you get the feeling that this is some sort of reunion movie, as just about all the characters from the series join up in a rather large chase against Ranma. The movie then reveals it's true plot, which has new, yet dull characters and even duller battles. This would be at the bottom of my Ranma favorites list, and would thus be the least recommended out of the TV series, the OAVs, and the second movie; all of which are substantially better.

Yes. This was a Ranma movie, but it wasn't what fans were expecting. It is rather fun, though, and its the classic movie, so don't let it slip through your fingers.

A decent Ranma film, although it is also the most disappointing Ranma feature of all. It's alright, but it certainly isn't as good as any other Ranma OAV or TV episode. This is probably because it's a story that Rumiko Takahashi herself had absolutely nothing to do with. As such, it just doesn't really feel like Ranma, but as more of a weird movie with Ranma characters placed haphazardly throughout it.

Good movie, especially subtitled. I was turned off by the TV series because of dubbed format. Ranma sounds like he's on depressants (male format). This movie finally has the Takahashi madness that was what I think sorely lacking to the TV series that Urusei Yatsura delivers in spades.

Ranma 1/2 Movie 1: Big Trouble in Nekonron, China
A chinese girl name Lichee comes to get revenge on Happosai. She possesses the ancient scroll that says for her to marry Kirin of the 7 Lucky Gods. When the 7 Lucky Gods finally arrive after many years of waiting, Akane happens to be holding the scroll at the moment and is kidnapped by Kirin to become his bride. Ranma and the gang set out to Nekonlon, China to rescue Akane (and of course to settle the score with Kirin.)

Good movie. Shows a little more serious side of Ranma 1/2. Loved the music! Overall, well done.
