I thought Revenge of Jubei was not too bad... that is until I got to the ending, all I could do was boo and hiss. I thought that it was pretty lame, and the teaser for the sequal could've been a LOT better. Aside from that, I STILL had to get Hell's Spawn (Ninja Ressurection part 2), and that completely redeemed my faith in the series. It makes suffering through the end of the first one well worth it. Hell's Spawn is pretty sweet, and makes BOTH movies, if not the whole series well worth buying!

It just isn't the same as Ninja Scroll............don't buy it, like I did...rent it! It's not nearly as good as Ninja Scroll!

By the way, I took a gander at the Revenge of Jubei box once again, and the text reads as follows:

"Join a nightmarish journey through faith and betrayel as the infamous warrior, Jubei (Ninja Scroll), returns to confront..."

The key word here is "returns". I personally thought it was pretty darned misleading of them to refer to Ninja Scroll, and claim that Jubei returns if this is NOT a sequel. Anyway, I thought that was merely an interesting tidbit that I noticed.

This is the Nemesis "X" Enforcer, this movie was an excelent aproach to the Jubei character.They took the dark art approach where there is more blood and guts shit going on,but this is good because ninja scroll is a classic and they could have ruined the whole name if the sequill was candy ass like the Mortal Kombat situation.This is not the continuation to Scroll, just simply another chapter about Jubei, this is a good two part set the ending is a little out there,but it leaves you guessing so in other words leaves you wanting more.I know this shit is a long comment but somtimes you have to exspress yourself,and always remember where you came from because you never know where you'll end up.

Good animation, but the storyline is pretty stupid. What the hell is this Jesus turns Satan crap? Obviously the series' writers don't know shit about christianity, and before anyone calls me a christian nut, i am an atheist and i read comics like "Preacher" and "The Invisibles" all the time. And don't get me started on the characters. Come on, Satan a sexless wimp with long white hair? And what about Jubei's team? A fat guy with a head like a football and a ninja with a jetpack for lack of a better description. THE STORY IS BASED IN FEUDAL JAPAN, NOT IN BLADE RUNNER!
Message to the creators: GET YOUR ASSES DOWN AND MAKE A DESCENT NINJA SCROLL SEQUEL. STOP WASTING YOUR TIME WITH SERIES THAT NOONE LIKES!!!

Even thouh I was tricked into buying it thinking it was the sequal
it was still pretty cool! But it could have been longer. vol. 2
is cooler it even has the birth of Satan. OH ISN'T THAT SO CUTE!

If i would be a anime producer i would pair up, the Jubei in Ninja Scroll and the Jubei in Ninja Ressurection in a "bloody" duel, because Jubei in the Ninja ressurection is a fake. I will let Jubei (original) kill him brutally...

Sorry to dissapoint all you Kibagami Jubei (Ninja Scroll) fans out there, but Yagyu Jubei (Ninja Ressurection) IS THE ORIGINAL JUBEI. He is the Jubei that is featured in Samurai Showdown. He is the Jubie that currently possess Jubei-Chan (new "magical girl" show currently running in Japan now). He is the Jubei that the Jubei from Ninja Scroll is BASED on. Sorry guys, but The ninja Ressurection Jubei came FIRST. I didn't make this shit up. Go look at the copyright on the original Samurai Showdown game and the copyright on Ninja Scroll...There have been several movies made about Makai Tenshou...which is the ACTUAL name of Ninja Ressurection. You see...it was a story written sometime in the late 19th century. So, yes...Yagyu Jubei is the First and original, not Kibagami Jubei.
oh, By the way. Yagyu Jubei actualy existed, I believe. Many of the characters in Makai Tenshou are real, historical characters. Very similiar to Hajime Saito of the Shinsengumi, from Rouroni Kenshin was a historical character as well.

While it's true that this anime can't really hold a candle to Ninja Scroll, it's nice to see an anime featuring Jubei Yagyu, who did actually exist from 1606-1650, give or take a few years. He was the son of Yagyu Tajima no Kami Munenori who was one of the founders of the Yagyu Shinkage Sword Style. Jubei served the shogun as sword master, but was dismissed for unclear reasons. He disappears from all records for 12 years spanning from when he was 24-36. It is in this period that most of the stories about him take place. The 1st part of the anime isn't bad, but I haven't seen the other parts of the series yet so I can't make a definite opinion. Going on the 1st alone I'd have to say that it's pretty good.

This is the single worst animation I have ever seen. The plot was pathetic, the character developement was nonexistant, and the battles were uninteresting. Two friends and I rented this in hopes that it might be something decent, but we were all terribly disappointed and even disgusted after wasting our money on renting this pathetic, boring and plotless "anime"

The first part was entertaining, and showed
some promise but part two really sucked with
stupid charachters, inconsistent animation and
violence in the place of plot.
