Granted that this is just a movie, and freedom of speech is a right, I wont totally trash it. Films, songs etc, all have themes that speak differently to everyone; However, why would anyone think that rape is something good or something to be enjoyed? My own friend was raped, she didnt deserve it, nor did she like it, it ruined her life, and how some people can take that so lightly makes me sick and is probably the same mentality that her attacker had. Anyway, I wont waste my time getting upset over a movie, I just wont watch it thats all. Its not the movie that upsets me, its some peoples overjoyed reaction to it. I have only one thing to say......Ya know Hitler probably started out like that! I have no rating for this movie......nuff said.

I had nightmares for a week and i still watch it just to have them again! The
story is actually interesting and the demons and abnormal stuff fits right along
with the genre which i would classify as horror and not hentai even though the
sex scenes are pretty graphic. Still the urotsukidoji series is one of my favs
and is a classic where you liked it or not. I recommend to the open-minded

Great OAV all the way! An intelligent story (except maybe for "Inferno Road") and interesting characters. Even those who appear later on in the story seems really well thought out... Flawless!

OK, I think everyone should just settle down and chill out here.

First, to everyone who calls it such a bad movie, try to remember, it's just an animation.

Sure, people get raped in the real world, but at least the attackers aren't demons (at least not physically). They're just normal (if sick and twisted) human beings who can be defended against.

To everyone who thinks it's just about rape and murder, try to remember there's an actual story to go with it. A story about the Three Worlds of Men, Beast-Folk, and Demons, and about an ancient prophecy of the Overfiend's coming (in more ways than one, huh huh huh). A story about lost loves and horrible tragedies.

To everyone who's been saying things like "Rape that bitch", or "all you feminists should be raped" or "that guy's just pissed 'cuz they ain't raping him", you need a lesson in tolerance.

Oh, and I'm not some PC moralizer, I'm just tired of your arguments getting in the way of my enjoyment of reading these reviews.

Oh yeah, and I like the part where Suikukajyu's female companions "resuscitate" him. :) ========> (growing my own tentacle here)

IT HAD GREAT ANIMAITION PLUS ONE OF THE MOST EXCITING STORY LINES ,PLOT'S I HAVE EVER SEEN I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE PART'S 3,4 AND 5 .

Extremely entertaining. Not any where near as disturbing as the knee-jerking reactionnaries who have been commented on by another submitter above. I agree. More tollerance and agreement to disagree(or better still grow up and stop wingeing on these pages) What do you want anyway? It's purely fantacy and doesn't invite anyone to act on anything that they see. I don't find rape (in the real world of us humans) funny, but I do in the context of an overblown storyline where the action spirals out of control rediculously. You watch this film incredulously as the school-girl has worse and worse luck. "Oh, here comes a big cock-demon, surely she can't get it *again*?!!" And so follows humour of disbelief and admiration for the story-writer's sheer honest audacity to create such a character who is rained shit on. The characters are very obviously steriotypes and not meant to be anything more than that - we're not talking high art after all.
The confusion and breaks in cause and effect are what *make* manga for me, if I want a PC, linear storyline with a cosy moral and no effort required from my imagination then I'll watch Disney.
I intented to watch Legend of the Overfeind again and again, it's becoming a favourite, and I look forward to seeing the sequels.

Underneath all that sex/violence/rape is a sweet lil' love story, but who cares when 3 worlds become 1 and we humans have 2 live alongside demons and man/beast beings. We're screwed! But, Akemi will give birth to the Chojin and he will create a better world, after destroying this one, arghhh! And then there's the incredibly long gestation period. We'll just have to watch Urotsukidoji 2: Legend of the Demon Womb to see if we shall be saved.

Not a particularly engaging storyline. Normally I would favour titles with titilating sexual content but find little amusement in exploding women. A story with promise that lets itself down.
