Lots of mechs and battles. Fair storyline, but seems to be farily routine (kill one baddie per episode type of thing).

OK..I'll admit I'm a BGC fan. But what isn't there to like? You've got women kicking butt in power armor(draw in the interested), major battles, a deeper-than-you-think plot, and the best rock-n-roll soundtrack around! To those who think "BGC is too old" I ask: does age hinder Miyazaki? Does age spoil Macross?? You *must* watch this series at least once. And if you watch it a few more times, you'll begin to see the magic...

This series had so much potential to be great that even if it generally failed to portray its characters as weak and predictable stereotypes, it had enough going for it that it warrants a near perfect score. Of particular note are episodes five and six that delve into the possibility that the main character is not a human, but possibly the very thing she kills on a regular basis: A Boomer. The more popular characters are comparatively dull and uninteresting. Many of the fans miss the greatness from Sylia, Linna, Largo, and Quincy, but time will hopefully remedy this.

I am a huge Sonoda Kenichi fan and this series led to two things: a)His excellent character designs and b)Strong female characters that didn't weakly stand on the sidelines waiting to be rescued. This type of character was sadly lacking in animation and live action here in the States at the time I first saw this series and was quite a refreshing change in an otherwise ridiculous stereotype.

BGC is probably one of my favorite anime series. The art and animation is good and manages to improve with each episode. The plot is deeper than you might think, and yet manages to subtly poke fun at the cyberpunk-anime genre with a tounge-in-cheek qaulity that makes the series great fun to watch. Besides...you gotta love those hardsuits. :)

Priss rulz! Nene is the queen of cuteness! Sylia is an awsome leader(though a BIT too serious)! Linna has boyfriend troubles but is still cool! Mackie...well, he's Mackie, but I still like him (except for his knack for being a HENTAI!!!!!)! Leon is a neat charactor even though he tries to hit on Priss!

In other words, this show is one of the best.

This series is one of the best I have ever seen. There is an excellent storyline, great characters, and the songs are cool too!!!

Everything except Sylia sucks like there's no tomorrow. Oh, the art is fine and some of the music is nice, but the rest? Boring. Repetitive story lines, stereotypical characters, unoriginal character designs, dumb song lyrics, and the worst screenhog I've ever seen in an anime: Priss Asagiri. This series should have been the best ever but instead it was so laden with bad writing and poor reasoning that the end result is fairly putrid. Okay for its entertainment value, but if you want something that is worth a damn in the long run, move on to The AD. Police Files. Not even a totally unique and fascinating lead character or the coolest villain of all time could save this series from being painful to watch. There is not a single episode that does the concepts justice. This is lame.

May Priss burn in Anime Character Hell!!!!!!!! Nene too!!!!!!!!! And may they take Sonoda with them for letting Priss hog all the art!!!!!!!! If this is the best Suzuki can come up with, god help us all.

This has some great concepts but is totally average based on the actual content. Sure, there are pretty girls, cool mecha, awesome fights, and neat music. Compare this to a book, though, and judge it on the same standards that you judge the literature you would have read in highschool. The plot? Repetitive. The characters? Mostly stereotypes. The overall story? Overused. I can name a few good things and the rest is pathetic. They needed a better set of writers to stop using the same "Priss wants revenge YET AGAIN" subplots. Those were lame. Focusing a little attention on the actual main character would have been nice, too. Basically, this is one of those anime that should have been Evangelion but ended up closer to Angel Cop. Hopefully the TV series will be better.

Die, Priss, die!

*ahem* The rest was pretty cool for a 1987-91 venture. The art is better than a lot of the current stuff, some of the character designs were gorgeous (vote for Sylia as most beautiful!), it had some unique characters, and the moral question of the Boomers was interesting. Too bad all the good stuff was pushed to the back so that Priss could hog the screen. Anyone who thinks that dumb cow is attractive needs to get his eyes checked.

The best episodes are the fifth and sixth because they have... LARGO, the greatest anime villain of all time!!!
