Very funny. I was lucky enough to see a non-dubbed version of this movie and boy am I glad. This movie surprised me, as I was avoiding Lupin III for some reason, possibly because it's one of the older anime out there. I recommend this very much.

Well, all I can say is that I'm highly disappointed. I kept hearing great things about this one, things like that it was one of Miyazaki's best and whatnot.

Maybe it's the fault of Carl Macek and those trained monkeys at Streamline, but I just couldn't really get into it. It was worth the 99-cent rental, but still...

One of the best anime movies ever made, IMHO. Unlike some of Miyazaki's other masterpieces (in Miyazaki's case, "multiple masterpieces" is not an oxymoron), there is no important message; this movie's sole purpose is to entertain you, and it succeeds. A funny, exciting adventure for all ages.

One of the all time greatest anime... right up there with Riding Beam and Battle Angle... and get this it was release in 1979 over 20 yrs ago and still kicks butt!

This classic has really turned me on to anime. A friend of mine suggested me to watch this. I was totally hooked. Lupin is a cool character that you just can't count out because he has his own reserves to kick some ass. Great story and heart to boot, too.

Really a refreshing title that really stands alone from typical anime that can be categorized in mecha/shoujo/tentacles/martial arts categories.....

The humor is fairly unique in that it is less slapstick and more "cartoonish" in nature: there's a hilarious scene where we see Lupin III desperately trying to (and for a short time succeeding!!) swim UP a downspout of water....

it also takes place in a 70's type of atmosphere which is a riot in itself....

I haven't seen Totoro, but this is one of the best Miyazaki flicks I've seen. Very lighthearted anime for the whole family. The animation and sound are a bit dated (It was done way back in the 70's I think).

By the way, I was just wathing my Macross TV series of DVDs and noticed that there's a scene in the arcade (where Max and Millia duke it out) where one game looks awfully like the car chase scene out of Lupin....

Lupin III: Castle Of Cagliostro
This a fun movie that does not take itself too seriously and is full of wonderfully entertaining characters. I get out of the Joto, a parody of all subservient henchmen shown in movies. He is the most loyal henchman I have ever seen. The animation is very good, though it was made in the 80's. The designs and music are superb.
