All I have to say that this movie is DA BOMB FOO!!! I love it. All of the people who love Macross should watch this movie. The animations was far beyond anything I saw, (except for some other titles.) It was really cool, music was touching, the action was great. Good All Mate, This movie beats any mrchabased movie I know, including Gundam (No offense). Okay Now, Bye Bye Then! ^_^

Macross: Do You Remember Love?
Excellent movie overall. Amazing animation. I would really really really
love to see the film of this in a theater. The only version I have seen
is a really poor 3rd generation VHS tape. I am planning on buying the
laserdisk version. Note: The laserdisk is an import, Japanese language
only. However, this isn't bad if you download the script from the web and
print it out.

The character and mecha designs in the movie are slightly different from the
ones in the original Macross series. These are mainly stylistic differences.
When you watch the movie, probably one of the first things you notice is that
everything is shiny. ;-)

I really like the scene when Hikaru and Minmei go joyriding in a training
veritech and get attacked by aliens. That is just an awesome scene. And
then of course, all the fighting scenes are amazingly cool.

A note about "protoculture". The ideas of protoculture in Macross and in
Robotech are very different. In Macross, the Zentraedi and Maltrandi are
entirely military-oriented people. To them, protoculture is the set of
advanced cultural things like art, music, literature, and love. In
Robotech, however, the idea of protoculture was invented to bind the
three series together into a package that they could sell to TV stations.
All three series (Macross, Southern Cross, and Mospaeda) needed an energy
to power the mecha. Carl Macek and the crew at Harmony Gold gave protoculture
a new significance to achieve continuity.

BTW, Minmei (of Macross) is cute, rather than annoying. In the Robotech
translation, her character came out really bastardized.

Very good movie but I did not like how the producers and directors were so fasinated by the mecha and animation but not the storyline of the series. But over all it is the best macross movie to date!
