Gundam 0080 is a departure from the gundam series, in that it is not a battle story, but rather a moral story, attempting to illustrate the vicious realities and truths of war. With an ending that could have come from a greek tragedy, 0080 will leave you stunned, if not in tears, but it would be a shame for any anime fan to miss it.

Awesome music really sets the mood of war in a pocket the ending was
superb! also very sad and depressing when bernie died. the best gundam
dramatic gundam series out there.

The kids were kinda annoying, but the movie was absolute beautiful...
Depressing ending though...but that almost always happens in Gundam movies...
Gundam always ends either up a piece of space junk, or so disabled that a cannon fodder pilot could kill it.
The GMs sure got their asses kicked though...

Simply great. One of the best OAVs around. Character development is superb. Excellent twist in the plot. Great ED that suits the overall atmosphere perfectly. Tragic ending and the fact that neither Bernie nor Chris knew who each other was.

Although, I was hoping for more development on the relationship between the two pilots, romantic or otherwise... it would have been even sadder if Bernie left something to give Chris along with the package he gave to Al. Still, a great anime and must-watch for any serious anime fan.

Gundam is just a better version of Giant Robo.
Im serious Giant Robo is retarted looking.
I probably give that a 1 rating.

This is a very impressive anime though i am not at all surprised since it is an OVA and it is part of the Gundam storyline.The reason why i was attracted to it in the first place,was because the character design was Haruhiko Mikimoto(one of my absolute favourite anime artists)and thank god i bought the VCDs.It has the same theme as Gundam Wing(or probably the other Gundam OVAs or series as well)and questions the logic in making war.Of course the mecha cannot be ignored and i must say it is also absolutely fantastic!Though i haven't seen the rest of the Gundam OVAs and series i must admit that Gundam is one of the greatest anime in japan forever,or more appropriately a classic!!

A great side story in the original Gundam timeline. Probably the saddest ending of any anime I've ever seen. Good, but short battle scenes with classic Mobile Suit Gundam mecha.
