Description:Based on a Osamu Tezuka's graphic novel first published in 1949 more than 10 years before the inception of Tetsuwan Atom (Astro Boy), Metropolis takes a look at the rapid expansion of science and technology and the co-existence of humans and robots.

The story centers on a young girl named Tima and Kenichi, the nephew of a private detective named Shunsaku Ban. Tima, who doesn’t know she’s really a robot, is stalked at every turn by Rock, who wants only to destroy her, and Duke Red, who wants only to use her power for his own ends. Now the fate of both Metropolis and the fragile coexistence of its humans and robots lies in the hands of this single young girl.

Metropolis
It's very hard to describe the beauty of Metropolis in simple words. The animation is very well done, I would have given an even higher score but there was one problem. Some if not most of the people look very cartoon like. The plot was very beautiful, but I wish they made the ending easier to understand. I didn't find much humor in this at all. The soundtrack is exceptional, I like the ending song, but the rest was a bit to classical for my taste. The music in the destruction/fight/try to save Tima's life seen didn't really fit, wich took away some of the feeling to it. overall I made this anime sound pretty bad, but its actually very beautiful and something to consider watching if you like dramas and robots.

Metropolis
THis is a brilliant anime! If you must see anything by Osama Tezuka, make it this movie! The movie, though based on a manga that is about fifty years old, is one of the best i've ever seen. The plot bears many resemblances to that of Fritz Lang's Metropolis. The animation is very, very crisp (as if you would expect anything else from Mad House Studios), the direction by Rintaro is excellent. My favorite thing had to be the music., especially when they began playing Ray Charles's "Can't Stop Loving You" in the background at the climax of the film. If you do one thing before you die, SEE THIS MOVIE!

Metropolis
The backgrounds and characters are very
different looking, the characters are
drawn in a very colorful, retro style.
The music is great. The plot isn't anything
out of the ordinary, definitely the weakest part.
