Sony KV-32XBR200
Good tv but not even near the best in europe. In europe as I have seen the
Philips tv's are the best and the Wega's are considered the cheaper alternative.
Good for the price but I would get the new 32" Philips tv's wich they put up.
Outstanding picture on those.

Sony KV-32XBR200
the picture quality started out fine. but once i had it at home for a period of a week or two i started to notice flaws in the lower left hand corner of the screen.

i called sony and they notified me that they will discontinue this model for a new release (hopefully by september)

Sony KV-32XBR200
An absolutely stunning picture, especially when you input from the component inputs. This unit is a snap to set up, and once I'd gotten it's 175# lugged onto the stand it was up and running within minutes. It does come with four preset picture "modes" - vivid, standard, movie, and sports, but all but the movie mode are extremely gharish with the sharpness and color set way too high. The movie mode is fairly close to Video Essentials, and a little tweaking there brings out a picture that is about as close to HDTV that I'm likely to get for years to come. All inputs but one S-Video and a pair of audio are located on the back, and the most common controls - on/off, volume, input, and channel are located on the front top edge of the set. The on-screen menu functions are clear and easy to use. The remote is functional, with the most common controls being fairly accessible. One of my two complaints is that it isn't backlit - Sony touts the unit as being able to control all parts of your A/V system and while I've had no trouble with controlling my Sony S-500D DVD or 798HF VCR using the TV remote, the lack of a backlight or the ability to control the volume and switching on my DE925 receiver is irritating. There also seems to be a problem of campatibility with the DE925 receiver in that whenever I select DVD on the receiver remote, the TV switches to the VCR input. Whether this is a problem with the receiver remote or S-Link, I'm not fully sure yet. Sony has some known deficiencies with S-Link/Control S and none of their documentation in this area is particularly clear. I'd bought this unit thinking that by simply putting in a DVD or tape would turn the set to the right video input and set the receiver to the appropriate audio input. So far, after much trial and error, I've managed to get the set to turn onto the approprate input, but I still can't find the proper combination of S-link hook-ups to manage the receiver as well.

I'd give this unit a 10 based on picture quality alone, but the slight problem with the remote lacking a backlight and questions concerning S-Link compatibility issues forces me to give this unit a 9.
