This player has great audio and picture. As for the remote I just use the universal. I havn't had any problems running any CDR discs it even plays video discs burned off a computer. I recomend the 505, in fact I have 2 of them.

Fantastic video and audio. Only down side is the remote. You have to turn the lights on to find the button you're after and that's even after a full years use. Saddest remote I've ever seen/used. As for it not playing CD-R's - Who cares, stick 'em in your playstation.

Very nice picture, although I would have preferred RGB output. But then I picked mine up on a trip to Japan for around £130. It was end of line but with full guarantee. I modified it when I got home in about 15 minutes and have had no problems with it. It would be nice to play CDRs though.

I picked this up at a great price and it has been excellent. Great picture and all the (IMO) necessary basic features.

I'd rather keep the DV-505 over the US$395 I paid for it....well, i don't really care for remotes anyway.

This player is very good as pure DVD, but is still a decent CD-playere. That's more than you can say about many others. It's menu is incredible easy to use, and it's got a good remote.
A fine product.

Bought mine for US$299. Region modded it the next day. Only gripes and these are fairly minor :) are the jerky fast forward and reverse and the ergonomics of the remote. I tend to use my Pioneer VSX606 remote for basic operations as it's laid out a tad better.

Video and sound is excellent! Another good feature is that both AC3 and analogue are available at the same time...

Bang for buck - hard to beat!
