The player is fine, the audio and video quality is also good, the problems revolve around changing zones; It is not easy at all.

I have had this for 10 months and it had held its own against my abuse. I have never had a problem with any disk. Once in a great while it will drop audio for a sec or freeze on a frame but it ends up being a dirty disk because once I clean the DVD, it works great. It is a first generation player so that kind of lacking error correction is to be expected. JVC does not make this anymore and I origionaly got it for $300 at Costco. It has cursed my life since it bit me with the "home theater" bug. My wallet has never been the same. Stay far away from home theater anything if you value your savings account ;)

Great Picture quality. Strong performer. Great remote control (Multi- Brand)Owner has never had any problems with this unit. Best deal for quality. Best audio quality. 6 Channels performed seamlessly with stereo. Attenuation switch in the back of unit reduces volume coming from unit so it doesn't distort your amp. Has screen saver mode to avoid burn-in. Plays CD audio with a distinct clarity. Excellent channel seperation.

You can choose between 3 different picture settings while the disc is in play. Changing audio tracks and/or subtitles, also. Sams's Club has/had this unit for only $399. Lot's of useful extras and a problem-free player, so far.

I've played hundreds of discs from different studios and manufacturers and have not had any problems mentioned with other players. The S-video cable that came with the unit is better than the one I bought seperately. If you don't want Dolby Digital, I recommend the RCA 5210P.
