You can get your DVD's from this place for the lowest prices around which is why I gave it a 1. But the price goes up when they add shipping (aprox. $4.00). But it still ends up a little lower than the others (aprox. 25 cents to a dollar difference). Also you have to wait a whole month before you get an order that take 1 to 2 weeks for delivery. I also noticed other places get their dvds in stock before buy.com does. Basicly I won't buy from them because they are slow as sit and I'd rather pay a dollar more to get my purchase within a week.

OK, like the above comment said - P R I C E. They are cheap. I've ordered several items through them... Ranma Boxed set, Soundtrack, and a few non-anime things.
It is true that things can take a while. I think it's because they do a lot of 'drop ship' - meaning that they don't have stock on hand and they have it shipped from their wholesaler (or perhaps manufacturer) in their name. Also a lot of their Anime catalog is in back order. I notice that they don't keep much in stock, but instead they wait for orders, then get the product.
Anyway, I placed an order last Sunday -VHS tape and memory. The tape arrived in two days, the memory took 8 days. I will admit I've had trouble in the past with their 'pre-order' system. It took a letter (a real letter, not email) to get the problem fixed - but they gave me a free CD and a personal appology- so I was happy.
- Another problem common to all large e-stores (Buy.com, Barnes&Noble.com, Amazon.com, etc..) is that their catalogs are a mess! FYI Buy.com is one of the five distributors we use for 'The Manga Store: shop online' (we are somewhere on this anime stores list) - we have gone to the trouble of cleaning up Buy.com's catalog... so if you want their great prices in a Otaku friendly format, see us!

They've gone downhill quite a lot in the past few months. Now everything has to be done with email and their shipping cost stink.
