>I know alot of people have complaints about best buy and maybe i should have the one of the biggest complaint (being late 3 time in 2 years gets you fired) but as i see it it tends to be in areas the biggest problem areas being in florida, texas, and pensilvania. I am in minnesota and since selling computers during my time there i had seen it all. I had people act extreamly happy and other leaving screaming they want to file a laysuit. As much as it angered me that they did that they will still have my business and to anyone that had a bad experience I am sorry you fell that way but you really should give them another chance... Everyone has a bad day now and again and for a sales accociate that is inexcusible and should not be tolerated. Sales people are expected to leave their personal lives at the door and do their job!!! So far as I count I have found roughly 700 bad reviews about best buy + the ammount not on the internet= 1000+ a day but when you figure how much business best buy does it is rougly 12,000+ people in a district a day (District is 8 Stores) Take that by the 39 Districts in 8 regions your looking at 468,000 Customers a day that 467,000 Happy customers leaving each and every day. So I guess what I am getting at is that I got along with most every person that I worked with. Except the GM who i found to be an overbarring pompus A$$. Other than that I got along with everyone and I hope that if your a digrunteled Best Buy Customer to give them a second chance.

........While reading this letter, I was wondering just how old you really are. Have you graduated from high school yet? My advice to you is to take some time out of your busy schedule and learn how to spell and also some grammer..........

>As a former Best Buy employee my advice to would-be shoppers is RUN!!!! Not to, of course, but far, far, away. I worked in appliances and possess an extensive knowledge about most of the manufacturers. While I certainly didn't receive a "kickback" from Whirlpool or Maytag, I steered most customers away from Frigidaire/White-Westinghouse/Tappan appliances based on my knowledge of the manufacturer's shoddy build quality and legacy of poor reliability. This got me in big trouble. I was then moved to home video where, once again, I became a bit of a consumer advocate. Often I steered customers away from Sony products that perform well but have dismal reliability to products such as Sanyo that have excellent dependability. Of course, Best Buy informed me that "that's what our Performance Service Plans are for." Crap-ola!!!!! Need an appliance? Look to Home Depot, Lowe's, or a reputable local dealer. Want electronics? Go to Circuit City.

Subject: Service Plan Scam

I purchased a flat big screen Toshiba TV, and not the chain's in store service plan whose only purpose is to allow you to make exchanges or returns for an extended period of time, from Best Buy on 2/7/04 and found myself returning to the store on 3/19/04. Initially, the TV's colors changed before my eyes to red and green, then the picture would just go dark altogether. It would stay that way for at least 15 minutes, then it would just reappear, color still off! Needless to say, I was totally annoyed in that first, the salesperson practically pushed the sale of the brand name, second, I paid cash for this thing, and third, the TV performed well for six weeks then suddenly deteriorated. Upon my return to the store, I asked if I could exchange the defective TV that Best Buy had sold me and offered to spend even more money with these people in buying a more expensive Sony TV. I had to consult with three "managers" who all declined my offer and agreed that because the 30 days since purchase date had elapsed, my only recourse was for ME to call their 1-888 number to schedule for a repairman to come out, and that I probably wouldn't have my TV for two to three weeks. The first "manager" informed us that because the computer software is programmed not to ring up an exchange after 30 days, they couldn't do it; I politely told him that he was full of crap! I feel that Best Buy's policy is to train their salespeople to "push" the less than reliable product lines to their customers because they know that eventually they will fail, then it will scare you into purchasing THEIR service plan on your next purchase, if you're stupid enough to buy from them again. Needless to say, I will inform all my friends, family, and internet buddies across the world not to purchase anything from Best Buy because they are more interested in their store return policy than in their customers' satisfaction!
