Same reason I'm voting for all the Sailors, for Jigglypuff, and for Kenshin: Vegeta doesn't get enough respect as a fighter. *^_^;
That and I felt sort of bad because Lisa was always voting here and never really getting anywhere, but the only reason she wasn't was because my user level was higher. If she was on an equal level with me, she would have easily beaten me out because of how much more often she voted, and I don't really want to take an unfair advantage like that.
...But now, ironically, where did she go off to? @_@

Is it just me, or does it seem like everyone who comes to these boards has one thing in common: A seriously screwed up teenage life?

*sighs*
And I wonder if I can make a difference with anything I say to you. After all, the cycle never ends. It's as if every one of us can point out a hundred good things about each other, but not one of us will ever take those good things to heart because we all only see the good in others and not in ourselves. Emerald. Halo. Pearl. Me. Now Lisa. Of the five, I think only Emerald has ever been capable of seeing the good in her along with the bad. I think she's the only one who's listened to the advice of her friends--maybe I contributed to that, and that makes me feel like I'm worth just a little more.
So I'm going to say what I can say, so at least I'll be trying.

Lisa... Look. A lot of the things you said are things that I can't argue with or change your mind about.
If you're depressed, that's a fact I can't argue with. I know. I've been there.
If people take advantage of your trust too often, I can't argue with that either. I know. I've been there.
If you hate yourself, then I probably can't change your mind about that. I know. I'm STILL there.

But there is one thing I absolutely can argue with and one thing I will say: Don't say there's nobody who's here for you.
I assure you that, even if nobody else, RG will be there if you ask for as long as she's here.
I assure you that, even if nobody else, I will be there if you ask for as long as I've got an email address.
And in all sincerity, I'd be honored if you did ask, because there's only one thing I'm good for in this world and that's being there for others.

And one more thing: I will say that I'm glad you're at least willing to stick up for yourself. I want you to know that that's something good about you, because there are some who would hear criticism toward them, even if it WAS from people who know nothing about them, and who would absorb that criticism, bottle it up inside, and drown within it until the end of time. There are some who aren't strong enough inside to handle it. There are some who are exactly how I was.
And you're not one of them.
So I want you to at least know that that's a sort of strength I see in you. That's all...

Jiggy, amen to you. Do you know that you are the only one who understands that what he or she says to me makes absolutely no difference?
How can I possibly believe anyone before I believe myself? I have such a negative, disgusting image of myself. Especially the way I look.
If someone constantly beat you up, picked on you, and made you feel inconspicous, your true friends would automatically turn their backs on that person.
...But, in my case, this is not Moron VS Lisa. This is Self VS Self. And how the hell can one's friends pick a damn... personality of one person and be on that side? It sounds insane. And it's completely impossible.
So, they think just by saying, "No! No, don't say that. You're WRONG" should make everything right. You know what? Maybe it does for someone who pretends to have a self-image issue or just wants attention. But it doesn't work for the one who truly believes in their heart that he or she is inferior to everyone else in every way.. and could never really amount to anything.
This isn't my family's fault. My parents were always there for me. It is my own. I let society kill me. I was weak. I cared too much about people who didn't give a damn about me.. and their opinions. I used to never say what was on my mind. I was afraid people would hate me. The first day of high school, I was so scared that it would be like middle school... that over two thousand people would hate me.. that I puked all over the hall.
I've let these idiots tear me apart. And it's not their fault. Again, it is mine. And only mine. I should have been smarter. And stronger. And not so trusting nor loving. And yet, I still am.
Although, now... I can cut people off very easily. I couldn't let go of anyone when I was younger no matter WHAT they did to me. Now, I've dismissed many people from my life because, simply put, I cannot deal with their worthless crap. They only drag me down.
I long to graduate from this hell hole. I'll be able to start over again. I'll have a completely new slate. And I intend to be something.
I think I'm going to get a counselor or someone after I graduate to right this distorted picture of myself... Find some glue and piece this fractured mirror to a whole once more.
And then, maybe I'll find some peace.
This was all but a fraction of what I honestly feel. It's long enough already.

Again, I don't know what difference I can make, if any at all, but I would like to say a few things:

How can you possibly believe anyone before you believe yourself? Unless I'm misunderstanding you, you already have! If you once let people tear you apart, as you say you did, then in many ways, you did believe them first.
What I was trying to say is that, for whatever reason, a lot of us have too much of a tendency to believe our enemies over our friends or even ourselves, and that's what ruins us. (And maybe I'm right and maybe I'm wrong--obviously that doesn't apply to everyone, and maybe it doesn't apply to you.)

And I hope a counselor works for you. It seems that, for everyone I know, it always took someone to turn their life around (you compared it to fixing a broken mirror; I compare it to completely replacing it with a newer, more beautiful one): Meeting a certain girl, meeting me, getting a counselor...
Everyone needed someone, and it was always someone from completely outside the box, with no preconceptions about that person, and here's (I think) why:
The people who influence us the most are usually the ones with the freshest outlooks.
We stop listening to people know after being with them for years. We stop listening to ourselves just a little bit after living with ourselves for our entire lives. To some small extent, our voice and others' voices become unimportant and easy to ignore, just like how we may cease to notice the hum of a computer after spending a few hours next to it.
It's the voices that aren't already in our lives who will reach us the most simply because they've never reached us before, and I hope you find yours.
