Ending felt a little rushed for such a long (but excellent) build up. Great story. They make Parn a bit stupid, but i guess all heroes can't be great fighters and brilliant minds at the same time.

Pretty standard fantasy fare, but well done. The first epsiode is quite well done, there is a slight drop in quality after, but still good. Recommended for fans of this genre.

I enjoyed this very much. Although it is typical fantasy/RPG, it
was well done and a joy to watch. I love the opening and ending
themes, too.

There is nothing particularly ORIGINAL about this, but the way the unoriginality is presented is thus far unsurpassed. Tried and true, but still very entertaining. Recommended to all who thought the animated "Lord of the Rings" sucked.

Complex storyline.Intelligent swordfighting.Superb animation.Super music.Uplifts people's spirits and kills time. Sends people into the dream fantasy world of knights and dragons easily even it was shwn at midnight(Singapore).Magnificent scenes of war,fights,magic,evil and dragons coupled with the clever content and VERY GOOD music, making it a MASTERPIECE of Japanese animation.

I really luv their story content and the animation was impressive!
Mostly, there are combination of humour,sad and depressing. But mostly on the adventureous side. I also luv their opening theme and it's background music really suit the opening drama.

I love the animation, it's original, yet good and is recognizable as anime. The story line was good, it didn't center on one villan for too long or have that villan always be the center of the story. It had great characters because it was a good mix of personality, ranks and standards . There was also a tiny room for romance, as with the characters Parn and Deedlit. It was dramatic, as all mideval stories are because it focuses on thoughtful things that aren't too depressing nor too cheerful. It is a good mix of the two and an excellent example of anime at its best.

RoLW has some incredible characters, but the names are too lousy in almost all cases. Pirotess (here's a lousy name!), the female Dark Elf rules especially!! The first episode is the greatest, a real masterpiece. Unfortunately, the quality drops a bit after that. The animations are mostly great, though it's a shame Shooting Stars (the Red Dragon) isn't properly animated, just as the first dragon was, especially when you consider his role in the last episodes. The plot is incredible, too! The focus is put on Parn, but I have yet to discover why they made him such a dimwit. In general, if you like fantasy and RPG such as AD&D, you won't be disapointed! Certainly one of the best anime I've ever seen, and a classic in the fantasy genre.
