Meade Pictor 216XT
This unit may work as an autoguider, but is poor as an imager. It has a very low sensitivity, small chip, and its own support software (PictorView) is very poorly designed. Additionally, the customer support at Meade is non-existant when it comes to their CCD products. CSR's at Meade have no practical experience with the imagers, don't return phone calls, and understand even less about the software (PictorView was written by a sub contracting company for Meade). While the price may initially seem attractive, it ends up being a fool's chase for a good deal.

Meade Pictor 216XT
send it to Saddam!

this unit works only occasionally as a guider. As imager it produces streaks over picture, is very hard to focus and to find appropriate exposure time for planets. Software 'locks' many times , sometimes works. No help frome Meade (E-mail to whom??) A 'must have' for amateur astronomers, if it would be the only kind of imager or guider in the world.
