Orion Optics UK 200mm Custom
I have an OO 200/1200 since 3 years bought at Teleskop Service (Germany).
I could compare it with sevral bigger Chinese high diameters scopes (XT-12, several 300 Dobsons).
My telescope is fantastic: stars are very definite pinpoints.
A startest showed that the primary miror is really nice.
I would definitely recommand it!

Orion Optics UK 200mm Custom
I have a custom-made 1/10 lambda f/6 model, 'Hilux'
coatings, OTA only with no finder. Picked it up from
Orion in Crewe, UK.

I've used this almost purely as a planetary 'scope with a
BW Optik binoviewer. The views are stunning. Contrast
and colour streets ahead of an FS102. Even Saturn's disc
shows a wealth of detail. Limited use on DSOs suggests
the Hilux coatings do yield a brighter image, M1 was good
even in a relatively bright, misty sky.

Mechanically, Orion Optics have introduced a number of
small but excellent improvements over the past few years
which help make the 'scope easier to use (see DX300 review).
Improved mirror cell, mirror marked at centre, much better
mirror cell to name a few.

Highly recommended!

Richard, Chester, UK.

Orion Optics UK 200mm Custom
Very good. Beats anything mass produced. Diffraction limited optics at reasonable prices. Hand made, available in several focal ratios and apertures. OTAs and optical sets also available for those who wish to use their existing mount or build their own Newt.
