This is a great scope for the beginner and advanced as well. I concur with the previous review on performance. Optics are very good. The weak point however is the optical window. I am also not happy with no collimation possible by user.

All in all this easy to transport scope may become your most used scope.... mine is.

This little scope is really quite good. It gets used often due to its portability. Optics are fairly decent. Shows mild false color but heck.... it isn't as bad as I thought it would be. Would love to try a better diagonal in this to see how well it could perform. Breaks down at very high power.

Entry: Astronomy:Equipment Reviews:Telescope Reviews:Edmund 3" Red OTA

I have 2 of these. The one that is used the most has a 1.25" focuser. The mount is very basic!! But this lends itself to easy use by newcomers. The optics are very good for an entry level scope. The .965 focuser is crap!! All in all I love handing these to my grandkids and letting them have at is with the big guys.

Entry: Astronomy:Equipment Reviews:Telescope Reviews:Edmund 4 1/4" Reflector

I have the later version of this from the late 60's early 70's. It has the red tube OTA and the optics are known to be better than the older versions.

I changed the secondary to a 0.8"MA and textured interior of tube. The contrast is wonderful. I have it mounted on a CG-4 that has been relubed and de-burred. Operation is smooth and the views show wonderful clarity. Cassini divisions easily diserned. Seeing how I paid $30.00 for the OTA and traded even up a Dynascope 4" for the new CG-4 I am very impressed by this portable scope.

I have has these speakers for literally decades. Now 30 years old they still perform remarkably well. Crisp high end and clean low end. Durability is fantastic. Original surrounds still remain flexible.
