Lack of parking in summer is major drawback. Great trail. I skate the trail for thousands of miles yearly. You can get a straight run from Port Royal Ave. in Philadelphia, PA to Oaks, PA at the Perkiomen Creek without hitting traffic, other than bikers, for a distance of 15 miles one way. Only free facilities are at Valley Forge Park at Betzwood on the trail. In the towns of Norristown and Conshohocken just off the trail there are businesses for a quick stop that are skater friendly. Some abandoned railroad crossings at grade with rubber fill that I take at around 15mph. Sometimes the old gravel from the RR track bed is on the trail after a heavy rain, otherwise very well maintained. Cheers, Moose Page 1 of 1 |
