Subject: TV Coma Corrector By: Anonymous (xxx.xxx.47.2) Date: 02/20/2005 09:31:39 am PST Hi, I have being using the TV 2-inch coma corrector on my 16-inch Newtonian for the past ten years. I use it with 9mm and 16mm TV Nagler's in a 2-inch focuser. My Newtonian is f/4. Yes - it does 'flatten' the field of view - this is especially noticable when viewing our Moon. In the 16mm Nagler the Moon looks like a photograph that fills the entire field of view - kinda looks like it is alive. A 'flat' picture view from the middle to the edge. I viewed Saturn 'with' and 'without' the Paracorr. When installed it 'sharpens' up the image - a definite improvement. Kind-of improves the quality of the mirror in your telescope. I also used it in a 20-inch f/5 Dobsonian (top-class Galaxy mirror) at 650X (9mm Nagler & 2X barlow) and the view was the best that I have ever seen of the ringed planet. Saturn looked like a beach ball with lots of detail present (other viewers were equally impressed). Is it worth the price? Yes - I think so - it just gives you that little extra edge when viewing. I always have the Paracorr installed when viewing. 2-inch planetary and nebula filters can also be screwed into it. Recommended for Dobsonian and Newtonian telescopes.
