I have a Meade AR-6 achromatic refractor with which I use my Contrast Booster. It is a great filter for removing the chromatic aberation present in this type of scope. It seems to eliminate just about all of the halo that is present without it. It does go a bit further though, and really helps bring out the contrast in the image. The only problem is that it is not very subtle about it. The image has a very un-natural yellow-sepia tone to it. This is fine if you are using this filter to boost the surface features visible. It does very well, if it is not the best around.

If you are picky about your natural looking images, you may not be happy with it due to the color shift. It is a bit of a niche type item designed for a specific function; bringing out fine details when using an achromatic refractor. This is the big boy to bring out when the other minus violet filters don't quite cut it. I have not tried it on any other type of scope, but It will probably add a bit to the contrast with them as well. I have no experience with this. Baader makes some very fine filters. This is one of them in my opinion.

These filters are also marketed by Celestron as the Celestron Contrast Booster. They are one and the same.

I picked mine up on sale for $25 dollars. Can't beat that with a stick.
