They talked me out of buying a Starlight Xpress HX916 from another vendor and offered me a deal wherein I could pay with a personal check and the HX916 would be shipped by 2-day FedEx, at no charge to me, within 72 hours after receipt of my check. I mailed the check two weeks ago on 10/30/01 and it cleared my bank 6 days ago on 11/6/01, yet I don't have the HX916 and no word from AVA on when it will be shipped. I emailed them on 11/9/01 and have received no response as of 11/12/01. Theis message is from John E Cordiale at Adirondack Video Astronomy. We received a personal check dated 10/29/01 for the order. We deposited it on Tues 11/6/2001 into our bank account. This was verified by check our bank deposit records. We did not hear anything on Friday from our bank. We are not open on weekends. The personal check had cleared by Monday. We mailed it out two day UPS on Monday. We tracked the UPS records and saw that it did go out on Monday Nov. 12 and was received on Wed Nov 14. We try to clear personal checks in 72 hours. Most businesses wait 5-10 business days for personal checks to clear. We try to do it sooner. I know that many customers are excited about receiving their equipment and we work hard to get their orders out as quickly as possible.
