>In the past few years, I have bought and sold quite a few eyepieces, but this one, along with a 12mm Nagler 2 are my favorites. Optically it is excellent, and I would rate it a 9.5 if that were possible. This ep is primarily used with a fast f/ 4.8 reflector, and there is just a slight hint of coma at the extreme edges. On several occassions, other amateurs have commented on the quality of the view and wanted to know which eyepiece I was using. If Orion ever has a clearance on this eyepiece, or if you can grab a used one, do yourself a favor and buy it.

1/4/08 Well, it almost broke my heart, but I sold it, only because I picked up a 24 Panoptic. Visually there was very little difference between them. The Pan was very slightly sharper at the extreme edge of field, really there was no difference. I did like that the Panoptic was lighter and smaller than the LVW. Decided that I really don't need 2 EP's that close together. But if you ever want a great eyepiece the 22 LVW is first rate.

5/14/2014 I missed that eyepiece so much I bought another one. Chiefly it's used in my Stellarvue F80 finderscope.
