The optics are superb, better than the 16x70 Nikon Astroluxe XLs. They are not too heavy to hold, but try before you buy. The image stabilization works quite well for such high power--you still have to hold them on the object or the image wanders, but there are no shakes. My only gripe, aside from the price, is that you have to hold down the spring loaded switch to turn the mechanical stabilization on. The switch won't stay on by itself and it takes too much pressure to hold it down for extended astronomical use. Get the Canon IS binos instead. Optically, Zeiss quality, with less color fringes than my not too older 10x 40 B/GA T*^Dyalit. Only annoying think, the observed field wanders slightly, making necessary, if I want to acquire the optical information they are capable of delivery, to steady them against something; in my case a Mountain stick performs this function quite well. All for all, very good, even if too expensive! avinalsg@inicia.es Subject: Zeiss 20x60 S By: Anonymous (xxx.xxx.57.130) Date: 02/10/2005 05:14:06 am PST If tempted by the Zeiss stabilised 20x60 S binocular (and you should be) do be aware that as well as all the merits posted here and in Reviews, this site has inadvertently put "roof prism" in the spec'. They are in fact porro prism design, providing the technical and viewing advantages such as assembly tolerances, greater 3D / stereo separation for picture quality and ease of viewing.
