>Optical best compact bino available today together with Leica Trinovid 8x20 BN and better than Swarovski 8x20, much better than the old Zeiss compact 8x20. Very helpfull working of the asymmetric folding mechanism. With this it is easier to find the right distance between the eyes. But the price is a little lost auf compactness in comparison with the Leica.

The workmanship of the Zeiss compact Victory 8x20 is poorer than that of the very expensive Zeiss Victory 10x56, which is made in Germany. The 8x20 binocular only shows made by Carl Zeiss on it. I notice glue on the label of Zeiss of the binocular. In the price range of US$400, I do not expect such a poor quality.

I bought a SWAROVSKI 8x20 instead of the Zeiss. You have to check its workship by yourself and then you can judge the huge improvement in workmanship than that of the Zeiss. The SWAROVSKI is also more compact and lighter.

In terms of optical quality, I can't see any chromatic distortion and alignment issue. It is unfair to compact the brighter and contrast to a Zeiss Victory 10x56, which I bought at US$1,300. Both of them are very good lifetime investment to me.
