>Just purchased these from UBid @ $1800...as soon as I plugged one of these in the subwoofer started making an audible "hum" (the other unit sounds okay)....based upon that I rate these a 2. I called Klipsch and they said they will fix/replace the amplifier for free (less shipping) IF I can get the amp deinstalled (it requires some unsoldering). I will add to this review in the future if Klipsch ever fixes this problem for me.

I have had these for a few years now. The problem you are having is a ground hum. This comes from the ground of your electrical outlet. It is recomended that you but a converter from any hardware store, home depot, lowes etc.

It adapts a 3 prong power cable that would normally plug into your wall to a 2 prong adapter eliminating the ground prong. This will get rid of the hum.

To respond to your message below. I have a pair of KSP 400 myself. What I did to fix the problem is buy a set of 3 prong to 2 prong converters. These can be found in your local electronics shop for under $5. Plug the power cord into this adapter, which plugs directly into the wall. This has solved the hum you experienced from your sub.
