Subject: VSX-24TX DSP Board Problem By: Anonymous (xxx.xxx.37.245) Date: 01/30/2005 09:58:22 am PST I have the same problem with mine I purchased in 1999. Also, after more internet research, I have found that the owners of the VSX-26TX are experiencing the same problems. My opinionated summary of all the comments I have seen so far is that Pioneer is not willing to admit they had quality control problems when producing the DSP boards for these receivers. They have offered to sell new units at a discount to anyone who has this problem. Still a very expensive approach. My VSX-24TX worked fine for the first three years, then began to fail intermittently. Mostly the problem has been isolated to the factory soldering done on the IC chip pins on the DSP board. I am sending my unit to Sybesma's Electronics in Michigan. They have repaired many of the boards for a very resonable price. Call 800-456-4265. Page 1 of 1 |
