>I'm having problems with the volume control which doesn't work. I've had the Denon for about eight months. The control stays at one level and won't respond to the remote or to manual control. The clicking noise in the volume control seems louder than it used to be. Also there is awkwardness in switching from AM to Fm and back and setting different station presets. I'd appreciate any comments. Thanks Ted Friedman workusa@sport.rr.com

This comes a bit late, but hope this helps someone with similar problems.

Have you tried reseting your Denon's microprocessor?

I had the following problem:

Denon AVR-1802 front speakers were silent. Speaker lights at the front panel didn't come on when switching from headphones to speakers (A or B). Headphones and surrond speakers worked ok.

Solution:

Reset the microprocessor: Turn the unit on from the power switch and hold speaker selection buttons A and B down at the same time. (The procedure is described in the user manual: http://www.usa.denon.com/catalog/pdfs/1802INST.pdf
page 43)

This unit has never performed well, now it will not even emit any sound at all. Tried to reset and nothing.

Trouble shooting is worthless.

What other brands should I look for after I dump this anchor?
