>My friend has had one of these scopes for about 10 years. This is the scope that got me interested in astronomy. It's optics are just fine, I've noticed no difference when viewing though the 8" Coulter or my 8" Discovery. The mount isn't quite as polished as most of the newer dob mounts, but it is 10 years old, and anyway it does the job. It's main weakness is the focuser (a simple draw tube). It didn't come with a finder, but I see this as a plus. I'd rather save a few bucks and buy the finder I want, rather than have the company put a piece of junk 6x30 on it (like just about every company does now a days in this price range). The Coulter 8" was and still is a totally descent scope for the money.

Hi:
Does anyone out there have a Coulter for sale.
Please contact me at PTRINIDAD1@SATX.RR.COM

I used to have one back in the early 1990's but for financial reasons at that time had to part with it. It was a 8 inch/f7 and views of the moon were great along with Jupiter. For a while, I thought I had stumbled upon a scope possibly for the CIA ( just kidding guys ) because the views were so clear and crisp. I paid $239 for the whole package which included shipping.
