I've always heard about this little refractor as a legend, so i couldn't wait to see at least one, but they are so rare... a few days ago while i was at a star party in the south of france i met a happy owner of one of these tremendous refractors, people there seemed to be "select" as i've been able to see 2 ap 155, 1 ap 130, 2 fsq 106, one traveler, one fs 128 and other exotic refractors, so it was obvious that many astronomers would make comparison among this jungle. what i can tell today is it's difficult to make an obvious difference between some of these monsters, but one thing is sure looking at the same object with the same ocular, we all felt more comfortable with the apq than with the others, the fsq and the traveller weren't bad either but not as sharp, anyhow all of this is purely subjective, as we were just amateur observers and not professionals, but today i'm sure that the apq reputation is not a legend !
Now,comparing price to quality i'll probably be more able to buy an ap or a tak since the difference is not that huge !

The FFC works to absolute perfection on the APQ if you use it in front of the prism diagonal, not behind !

I made a mistake in the last post : you should read : the FFC works to perfection behind the prism, not in front. I use it that way on my APQ 100/640 with a Baader/Zeiss prism diagonal and Baader Quick -change dovetails. You can even reach focus and get astonishing views that way with the Zeiss Baader bino (APQ-prism-FFC-bino).
