Subject: 31mm & 26mm Nagler By: Anonymous (xxx.xxx.186.5) Date: 02/04/2003 02:29:42 pm PST I was wondering if using a 31mm or 26mm nagler on the Obsession 15" or 18" will cause it to become inbalanced? If it does, how would I then balance it? Or would I have to forget buying those EP's? Thanks for any replies! REPLY: You could try to make more friction on the altitude bearings by rubbing the formica with denatured or unscented isopropyl alcohol.... This may take a trial and error process and you can always get the smoothness back by waxing. Also you can put a homemade captive counterweight in the front of the mirror box. You'll have to experiment with this using your lightest and heaviest eyepieces/accessories to determine how much weight you need. Scrap steel or lead work well. Page 1 of 1 |
