You may have overlooked the real attraction of this scope (especially the newer models with improved firmware) that is the GOTO mount. Mine works very well as a standalone or with a pocket pc running The Sky Pocket Edition. This mount is light and accurately finds objects that are hard to locate with a non GOTO scope. I plan on attaching a 5" Mac Cas or 6" f-5 Newtonian OTA in the future, this will make a big improvement in the optical performance. I'm returning the damn thing tomorrow. Do you mean the image is upside down? If so welcome to the world of Newtonian telescopes, all of them do it, even the high dollar models! If you had done any research before your purchase you'd know that (or simply read the owners manual). You need a special eyepiece adapter to right the image and these are generally not supplied with a scope meant for astronomy because it can add another layer of optical imperfection and it will raise the price.
