Astro-Physics 1200GTO
Looks like I voted 10 for everything except value. I want this mount to be made cheaper so that more people could afford it. A work of physical and useable art is the only way to describe it. Actually, from what I have slowly discovered, ALL AstroPhysics equipment is a work of art. I simply love this mount. Accessories such as the AP dovetail and mounting plates and diagonals and finder mounts and . . . the list is endless. I have yet to find one item I have purchased which is not intelligently thought out, designed and produced to be of the optimum usefulness and might I say beauty. Yes, this stuff is for discriminating (yeah, you are completely correct, a euphamism for those who can afford the best) purchasers, but if you want to own what some perceive as the Lambourghini or Ferrari of the astronomical optical and mechanical world, look no further. If you have AP items which do not meet the above criteria, and are unhappy with ther presence, simply leave a note and I will gladly pay the shipping to rid you of the onererous task of retaining any such item you may own! Preference will be given to those so disposing of AP 155 EDF OTA's, although I _could_ be talked into another 1200GTO or even better for portability, a 900GTO!

Absolutely first rate construction! Build like a tank, looks like an artpiece, highest quality materials, silky smooth operation, superlative attention to detail, exemplary precision, and finally backed up with the finest customer support in the business.

Yes it is one of the most expensive units out there, but once you see and use it you KNOW it's worth every penny.

My only quite minor blemish would be the weight, but this is a very minor concern for me. The unit easily breaks down into two pieces that I have no problem handling.

Oh yes... One last positive point, I can sell it for what I bought it for. (Not that I ever will !)

I feel this is by far the best mount for yhe $$$. However the instruction manual is NOT up to the standars of the mount itself. After using the mount for a few days I findly figured out by (trial and error) how to use it - now I'm happy!!
