M13 globular cluster
At 100 power, it looks like a ball of diamonds in the sky.

Use a 6 inch scope or larger, locate the object then increase the magnification to the seeing and optic limits.Sit back with your drive running, time and experience will make this object leap out at you and should be fully resolved.Beautiful.

Forms the right angle of a triangle with two nearby stars, one half a degree to the east, one half a degree to the south so it's very easy to find.
It's easy to see that it's NOT a star in 10x50s, but more resembles a large cotton ball with a diffuse outer area and a concentrated center.

Every July I make it a point to have a look at M13, Omega Centauri and 47 Tucanae on the same night. It's a very good looking globular cluster compared to most others. But if one really likes observing globular clusters, one really has to go down south and see the other two, which are in a class of their own. And to my mind, NGC 6752 in Pavo is arguably as impressive as M13.

One of my favorites. Best memorable views have been in a Juno 14" equatorial Dob, eyepiece unknown, and in C 9.25 at f10 using an 11mm Nagler,214X. "Resolved to core," Extremely sharp and inspiring.

With the right scope, this is easily one of THE top two or three best things you can find in the Northern Hemisphere.

Beautiful globular, slightly more interesting than M22. It always get "Ohhs and Ahhs" when shown to new viewers.

As everyone has stated. Jack the mag up a bit and watch as dozens if not hundreds of stars fill the fov. Absolutely awesome! Especially w/ my 8" Sct.
