Took my order then failed to inform me that they could not supply the items. Gave no explanation as to why they could not suuply the items and hung up on me three times during my polite attempts to find out what was going on. Worst service I have ever experienced.

They offer great prices, but they do not stand behind any product they sell from my experience. Once you buy it, it's your problem if something isn't right and they refer you to the manufacturer. Kinda reminds me of a car dealership! Their phone service is good though.

Very rude on phone, slow to fill orders. On one occasion, took my order, said item was in stock and yet I never received it - when I called back several weeks later, said they didn't have item in stock.

I have dealt with this company on the phone before, and they are quite
simply put: RUDE. There is some real asshole that answers the phone and deals
with customers -- he may be the owner, I don't know, but I think everyone should
avoid this place.

I get along well with the person who usually answers the phone. I have purchased a celstar 8 deluxe and ultima 7x50 binocs with minimal hassle. They beat everone else's price on these items and they did deliver them to me in perfect condition. If you like to have your hand held with perfect phone manners, this company is not for you. But if your looking for bargain basement prices on quality goods, this company can't be beat.

I cannot comment on their delivery of products because I never got that far. I have never experienced such a negative attitude toward a customer in my life. Totally inappropriate verbal abuse shocked me so much that I didn't really know what to say. How someone like that can stay in business is beyond me. I will gladly pay more money than give him my business. I have read comments about their attitude before but you cannot believe it until you experience it yourself. He has a serious personal problem, not to mention a lack of customer relations ability. Avoid this company!!!

I called this company a couple of months ago to try and get pricing and other info on the TV-85. The rude manner in which my question was received was really inconceivable! I was told very abruptly that the TV-85 was too new for them to carry, that I could pick up a copy of S&T, flip through the ads, call a different company for info, then call Wholesale back later - then the sales guy hung up on me. Don't do business with these people!

Seldon have I been treated so rudely as with this company. All I got was promises and no product. Purchased based on quoted price and availability. After six months I gave up. Finally ready to deliver when I requested a refund of my deposit--at a higher price! It took me another six months to get a refund of my deposit. NOT recommended.

I purchased a used telescope, sight unseen, based on the AstroPTX employee's glowing recommendation. Now, I have decades of experience with telescopes, so I know a piece of junk when I see it- and that's exactly what I got. Mistreated optics and broken mount. Fortunately, I was able to get my ~$2000 back, but with the added hassle of repacking and shipping costs. I will NEVER buy from this company again.

As for the person who stated, "If you like to have your hand held with perfect phone manners, this company is not for you", well, just keep calling back, friend. You'll get the "PTX experience" at some point!

The Prices are great! BEST ANYWHERE on most things plus the shipping is free for most meade telescopes. They are sort of difficult to handle and are a hassle; not the most "customer friendly" bunch-but the prices outweigh the poor service.

I have ordered lots of items from this organisation over the years, from Australia. On the phone, various people I spoke to were always polite and informative, and got to the bottom of any delays. They usually responded to my letters with concise and accurate responses. They seem to not respond to letters when one asks about something that is no longer made eg. when I was after a Celestron Coma corrector that they were advertising in S&T, but was no longer in production.
On one occasion I wrote to them asking to buy an LPR filter at a certain price. I got a response stating that the price had been reduced, and did I still want the filter! I thus cannot complain about any organisation with such honesty.

These guys are no good at all. I called to ask what was available in the 1500-1600 dollars range for a schmidt, and all they had to offer was that crummy G9 on the CG5 mount. I had questions, but the saleperson said he had another call and hung up on me. Very RUDE!!!!!

Yes, all the above is true. They do not have very good customer service skills at all. I cannot comment on their phone ettiqute, but their e-mail stinks too!
I e-mailed them late last year inquiring what their return policy was. The response I received was "On what" quote on quote.

I rather give someone else my business, and if it costs me a premium it still is better than getting treated like dirt. I am certainly not talking about ten or twenty dollars, more like a few hundred or a couple of thousands of dollars.
